So what's supposed to be so special about this game then as it looks like every other first person shooter...? :?

I hate it when people say things like that. It is a first person shooter, so of course it looks like other first person shooters. There is only so much you can do with them. You can say that sort of thing about pretty much any game and the genre it is within.
Anyway, one thing I quite like is the movement looks quite neat. Reminds me a little of Mirrors Edge:

Team Fortress 2

It may have a different graphical style but gameplay wise it still looks the same as pretty much all other team based FPS's (even if done better).
Note: I took it from Darren's comment that he means the gameplay looks the same as other FPS's not just the graphics.

Yes, they all have a gun at the bottom of the screen, but that's about it. There is plenty of room for variety if the developer actually wants it.

No console dedicated server= fail.

I was just pointing out that Darren's comment about 'looks like every other shooter' was a bit silly, as yes the fundamentals of them are the same, but that is purely down to them being fps's and could be said about any game in any genre.
There are, as you say, many differences within the genre yet people still slag them off for all being the same.

"Horribly worried about lag, hit detection and host migration! (console)
No console dedicated server= fail."
These are my worries also, stupidly nieve of them to follow client hosting when we ALREADY know it suks, all the game innovations in the world cant save it when the infrastructure its based on is wank ... idiots.

With plenty of talk relating to balancing gameplay and player types it makes you wonder why it wasn't top of the list. Even read a quote from a Splash Damage dev saying the host would be king.

If they need to release a video to explain every single element of the UI, they must be doing something wrong.

But hey what do i care iam a PC gamer where the reverse is true, the vast majority use servers.
On topic; the HUD looks pretty standard but to be honest you would want it that way, in something like a FPS you want easy and quick access to your weapons/ablitys so why change it?

I'm a pc player and console player and i'm sick to death of console shooters destroyed by lag, hit detection problems and the likes of host migration, it's simple really p2p does not work and it's time gamers woke up and smelled the coffee, it's 2011 ffs gaming is the biggest form of entertaiment on the planet.....we deserve better!
Those in denial of p2p or claim no problems whilst playing are either A: lying or B: just plain ignorant!

I disagree with that.
Team Fortress 2 gameplay looks nothing like any other teambased online FPS.
Alright there is still shooting and CTF, King of the Hill, etc. but the weapons and consequently the gameplay are very different.
