As much as streaming compression COULD be to blame, seeing this in 720p i spotted some places where there seemed to be low-res textures and LOD that would be inferior to the first Crysis on PC. So my guess is this was console footage we've just seen.
For precisions sake, and to eventually get second impressions on what I'm saying, look at the textures on the van close-up around the beginning (00:38), and the LOD deficiency on the wooden debris flying when the door gets kicked a bit later on (01:08). Then one could also make a case on things like the fire, which didn't seem very complex (alpha transparencies), etc. Anyone else that played Crysis on a high end PC and would like to weigh in with opinions?

If that is the case then, to my eyes at least, it looks ace.
I've never played the first, but it's not necessary to "get in to" the storyline? I'm a single campaigner me.

The story of the first one, and actually of the standalone expansion Warhead as well, was pretty basic. Not MW2 bad, but still nothing incredibly complex. Aliens invade, hulking macho marines shoot them in the face. And anyway since they won't put the first one on consoles, I doubt the two stories will be very tightly tied together.

Looks Fun though.
