    Battlefield Bad Company 2 - Medal of Honor - Battlefied Bad Company2: Vietnam

    Can anyone tell me any palpable differences between the three games in that timeline? In terms of gameplay I mean. Its a genuine question.
  • DeeTee_uk #2 2 years ago

    @Shikasama - Medal of Honor plays more like a direct competitor to Modern Warfare. In fairness to BC2: Vietnam, it's an expansion pack, so I'd expect it to play like the original, but with different maps and weapons.
  • SClaw #3 2 years ago

    @Shikasama

    BBC2 has more terrain/building destruction, less auto-aim, slightly slower combat (in my opinion) and many more vehicles. I expect Vietnam to be, basically, an awesome reskin of the core BBC2.

    MoH. That's another topic. We already know Dice just did a quick patch up job for that. It's a pale reflection of BBC2... though tailored to suit the MW2 crowd more than BBC2's. Different player bases in my opinion.

    Im not getting this unless theres a skin of Dolph Lundgren on the US army side with a necklace made of ears screaming " I CAN'T HEAR YOU".
  • Spekingur #5 2 years ago

    I vote win for richarddavies. Also, it should be in the game.

    1200 MS points I can live with.
  • Ron_Justice #9 2 years ago

    That's the price confirmed then. 1200 MS points = how many £'s?

    [edit] £10.20 apparently. Not too shabby.

    Holy fucking awesome, Batman!
  • Apostle #11 2 years ago

    How many maps? More than 3 please DICE.

    Well there be booby traps and can you play your music like BF:Vietnam? Please say yes! I guess there's no winch on the helicopter, that would make it an insta-purchase for me.
  • Ron_Justice #12 2 years ago

    Four new maps, some entirely new weapons, new trophies, new vehicles. YAY!
  • richardiox #13 2 years ago

    "Winter 2010" and a lack of an actual date makes me think this wont land before Christmas now which is a shame as I'd take Battlefield over any FPS competitor every day of the week.
  • Ron_Justice #14 2 years ago

    Nha, it'll be here this side of December I'd say. Well I hope at least :p
  • Br0ken_Engli5h #15 2 years ago

    @BentCopper

    "How could you shoot women and children?"

    "Easy, you just don't lead 'em so much"

    Good lord! This has got me hype! I used to love the original despite some of the glaring imbalances.
  • Shikasama #16 2 years ago

    DeeTee/Sclaw - Thanks for the replies (shame on you, phantom neggers), I didn't actually realise this was simply an expansion pack which was why I was a little bit confused at their quick job looking at that timeline.

    Might get this. BFBC2 was ruined for me by not playing on a HD TV (it was a small screen too) so it was very hard to see people a lot of the time, but now I'm geared up. I always find it difficult to compare modern shooters these days, they all seem so samey to me.
  • rojjer #17 2 years ago

    going to put my money on mid-december, a nice time to release and almost a month after COD: Black ops would have landed - the sweet spot for getting money off people hungry for more shooty.

    Lol...i remember the original BFV trailer back in 2004'ish....

    Great music, brilliant editing, stoked up, bought it....6mths later servers were empty, no one playing, no new maps.....expect the same thing to happen with this...
  • t8yman #19 2 years ago

    I read somewhere the other day that it was Dec 30th.

    edited to add

    I thought the fact that they had split the regions looked quite convincing?

    I hope you are right, they have now started the publicity machine rolling, I fully expect it to go up against black ops. Everytime MW2 had a map pack, BFBC2 did same this year IIRC.
  • FireMonkey #21 2 years ago

    @Apostle "Well there be booby traps and can you play your music like BF:Vietnam? Please say yes! I guess there's no winch on the helicopter, that would make it an insta-purchase for me."

    Booby traps = No
    Music in Vehicle = Yes
    Winch = No

    It's all detailed in one of the vids (possibly in the recent ones on GameTrailers).
    Basically nothing has really changed from BFBC2 as they didn't want to change the balance too much as they think it is pretty much perfect. Sounds like it is pretty much a re-skin (which is fine for an add-on). So want this to be good!

    i love the smell of napalm in the morning
  • Golgo #23 2 years ago

    Looks like Laguna Alta/Presa with new soundtrack. I wonder weer all soldiers in Nam into Hendrix/Cream etc. Surely there must've been some into Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Cilla Black and the like.
  • tachometer #24 2 years ago

    Looks great, hope it plays like BF1943 with just few classes to choose from. I doubt this will be out before Christmas, in fact I would expect this to land around March/April 2011 after the dust has settled from CODBLOPS.
  • glaeken #25 2 years ago

    @Bagpuss You are talking nonsense mate. I played the original BF:V for well over a year and the servers were still very populated when I moved on to something else.
  • HisDudness #26 2 years ago

    Question to EA: Can we play as the Vietcong?
  • Golgo #27 2 years ago

    @HisDudness: I've heard they're being renamed 'the militia'.

    So they didn't give us maps for the other part of the game because..... they had promised we wouldn't have to pay for them so it wasn't worth doing???? Or what.....

    That said looking forward to 'nam
  • TVoJ #30 2 years ago

    @glaeken

    I second this bro, I played BFV like I did all the other BF games and not one of em went dead after 6 months. Infact I had a game of BFV just before BC2 came out. He is talking shit. Must be a COD fan.

    BFV certainly had a decent playerbase, it was excellent. Hopefully this won't have a goof like giving the M60 user the LAW as well, that was one of the most bizarre decisions in game balance history!
