    Wot no BF3 advert beforehand?
  • GrizzleBoy #2 10 months ago

    I think I'll just bang my head against a wall till I'm mildly comatose.

    I'll write a note asking anyone who finds me if they could kindly refrain from waking me from my sleep until this game releases.

    God, some more 3 MONTHS to wait? :(
  • Bravestinsane #4 10 months ago

    even though its mostly the same from the previous MP trailer, i liked it, showed everything a lot more clearly....

    although they should stop bragging about the awards, they already have a shit load of sales lol, already a day 1 for me
  • koga-dave #5 10 months ago

    Looks awesome. Can't wait
  • Softie2k #6 10 months ago

    Some of those maps looked like Europe etc. I thought this was a middle east deal only.
  • BillyBrush #7 10 months ago

    ''even though its mostly the same from the previous MP trailer, i liked it, showed everything a lot more clearly...''

    Depends what you mean by clearly...my eyesight must be on the blink because i couldn't even see the enemies the guy is shooting at half the time.
  • arcam #8 10 months ago

    Can't watch this at work :(

    Pleeeeaaase tell me that this is a BIG map, and there are multiple tanks, helis, jets etc...
  • Buran #9 10 months ago

    Where is Battlefield? Where are the dozens of jets, choppers, tanks and 64 players in huge Conquest Mode maps?
  • Bravestinsane #10 10 months ago

    @Billybrush

    Blame the player not the game....

    just cause he cant shoot for shit doesn't mean it wasn't clear...

    for example, i could clearly see his shooting was shit.
  • Bigmac1910 #11 10 months ago

    Very poorly edited piece, didn't really have time to see what was going on.
  • Raptaur #12 10 months ago

    @Buran

    This is still Metro, its probably going to be Metro when the game is released for beta. They will continue to show Metro since that one is probably done to completion and is easiest to show while keeping the rest under wraps.

    You know there is going to be Jets, you know there will be tanks, you know there will be choppers and you know that there will be 64 players for PC...

    So stop being a little bitch since you aren't getting what you want, it will come in its own time

    Looked a lot like COD. I mean much much more like COD than bad company. I'm sure I'm gonna get negged to death but there's no hiding from the fact that it did.

    Edit: thought I'd point out I'm a Battlefield fan. This has left me a little cold inside.

    @username84 .. looked like COD ? . you need to get to spec savers dude.

    Usually in October I say to myself "Damn, I wish it was July"

    But this year it's efffing other way round.
  • Nikoj #18 10 months ago

    One word, !!EPIC!!
  • Fulford #19 10 months ago

    change to knife since badcompany? looks like you have to switch to the knife rather than a one button kill!
  • Xboxfanuk #20 10 months ago

    So DICE is making MW2?
  • Raptaur #21 10 months ago

    @username84

    I don't see whats so disappointing here.

    If you are saying its like CoD because there is close combat action going on then this will always be the case.

    The game is designed to have attackers and defenders converge on a set location, they do this by creating a focus point for both teams, that being the flag or an M-Com station. Unless you haven't been playing Battlefield games then you may have missed that around these location there happens to be a lot of shooting and gunning.

    Just because they picked the most action centric parts to show in teaser trailers (which kinda makes marketing sense) I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean that they've shrunk every environment, suited to kill streak focused game play.

    Also as a side not, this is nothing to do with Bad Company, this is a sequel to Battlefield series, not the Bad Company series

    The footage I've seen looks much more like Bad Company than Battlefield proper.

    This map seriously has one APC? There was not a single map on BF2 or BF2142 that had that few vehicles (that I recall).

    Hopefully they are saving the good stuff for a later reveal. But still, they're making such a big thing about pre-ordering, but I can't pre-order before I've at least seen clips of a couple of proper multiplayer battles.
  • username84 #23 10 months ago

    @Raptaur

    Yeah I see your point. I guess it's because there's less open expanse visible in this video. I just think the weapon handling / sound reminds me more of COD than Battlefield. And I have played a lot more Bad Company than other Battlefields. I'm used to lush jungles and frozen wastes. This video reminded me of terminal and other building based COD maps. I like COD but much prefer Battlefield. I want them to remain distant and two distinct gaming experiences. I'd hate to see them merge as they compete for the others fan-base.
  • GrizzleBoy #24 10 months ago

    This game will play very differently to COD for many reasos:

    - You can get into a vehicle.

    - You can kill people from within a vehicle.

    - The new suppression mechanic where your screen shakes(or blurs or darkens or whatever)/ health will not auto-generate while someone is firing at your position while you take cover.

    - The fact that your success as a team will depend on how well you actually work together (i.e. medics reviving attacking team mates so tickets dont deplete as quick, support gunners handing out ammo and actually being able to lay down prolonged suppressing fire with the new mechanics.

    This is just what we've been shown. Gameplay-wise, we've seen one multiplayer map, one large map from single player and one urban map from single player.

    I would hope that there is much more to see.

    @username84

    Dude in all honest I know about as much in this game as you probably do already. That said the Battlefield experience has always been about the large maps.

    I wouldn't worry too much about the high octane, high action video they keep showing, these parts exist as you get close to the objective.

    Showing a video of someone skirting around the action, as they try and flank the enemy allowing the squad to spawn and in taken them on in a surprise attack isn't the most thrilling experience to watch if you aren't already versed in Battlefield and can appreciate a sweet move like this.

    For the CoD players that think that Battlefield is too big and slow game play, this is the video they need to see. The video that happens a few minutes later after that guy, that was skirting around the the flank and managed to get inside a building, in the middle of the enemy base and start to open up a can of whoop as from the top floor window :D

    EDIT: My spelling is awful sometimes

    I take it none of you complaining about the lack of vehicles has been following the previews that closely then? The map they're showing there is a Rush map set in Paris and going underground - it was hardly going to be capable of having that many vehicles in it. We know that there's going to be bigger maps with lots more vehicles (not least because we'll have the maps from BF2) so I see no reason for anyone to be worrying too much about this. Get your pre-orders in - this is going to be nothing short of amazing.
  • username84 #27 10 months ago

    @Rapture

    Yeah hopefully your right.
    Still I wanna see dudes launching rockets at jets over miles of burning farmland / desert / homes for abused puppies etc.
    Give e some Battlefield goodness.
  • Bagpuss #28 10 months ago

    So, basically Bad Company 2, but with updated visuals....sold.
  • arcam #29 10 months ago

    @Tricky

    I've been mostly following the previews, and while they look great, all I've seen are single player scripted sections, a multiplayer map that's small and only has one vehicle, and a Rush mode which as i understand it is all against all (squad vs squad)? Not only aren't those Battlefield specialities, but they didn't even exist in Battlefield!

    Now I'm assuming other maps will have more vehicles - good luck getting from a ship to Wake Island in an APC - but I've been waiting all this time for BF3, it was revealed many months ago, and they STILL haven't shown the one thing that all Battlefield fans love the game for - huge multiplayer wars over big landscapes with loads of armoured vehicles and aircraft.

    Why are they concentrating on all the single player and small one-on-one MP infantry battles? I have seen that in a million games before. I hope it's not indicative of the direction they have chosen for the majority of the game. Hopefully this is just the drawback of promoting a game 6 months before its release, they have to spread out the reveals very, very slowly.

    @username84

    I wanna see it too :D

    just show the game playing without all the hype
  • Xardan #32 10 months ago

    Isnt this Modern Warfare 3?
  • TagemandBagem #33 10 months ago

    Three months till launch and they still haven't shown a real sequel to BF2. Narrow maps, sectioned off, with Bad Company's Rush mode is not what I expect from a sequel to BF2.
  • carlitoswagon #34 10 months ago

    Anyone who boycotts bf3 for whatever reason would seriously cut off their nose to spite their face.

    Anyways, love the new knife kill animation. Fully expect close quarter street battles at the closing of most maps so none of the vid came as a surprise. Weapons look solid, everything sounds amazing. Whats not to like. It really is nothing like cod. Played mw2 for a few mins last night and quickly gave up. It's a stale old experience in comparison.

  • mukki #35 10 months ago

    looking forward to this...
    but ya more gameplay without all the awards graphics would be nice...
    BTW it me or the 720 HD stream is just a zoomed up version of the High vid?
    720 looked a bit blurry...
  • danidrums #36 10 months ago

    Was expecting a clearer video, the only defined thing here is the awards.
