    BF1942 was a classic, so I'm interested in this update. I preferred the russian front maps rather than the jap ones.

    Ah, I remember all the idiots TK'ing so they could get to the planes first.

    Is it just me or is the pacific theme so lame! Nobody wants to battle in the jungles.
    Damn jungles and all that greenish.

    Agree with 'Bagpuss', they should have made Battlefield 3 with a modern scenario.

    STILL with the procedurally drawn foliage that up close you cant see shit from but far away you are a sitting duck. Did they not learn anything from BF:Vietnam.

    Yeah everything else looks pretty but come on - its Dice. Its Battlefield. It'll be a lag fest with shit hit detection and fuck all support. I bet my hat its still got the red team name bug in it too!

    So yet again we must put with this dull and lame Americanised view of the war in South East Asia and the Pacific of completely disregarding the huge impact Britain had on the war. Need I mention the retreat from Singapore? Or the heroic actions of Imphal and Kohima? The Battle of the Tennis Court. The war the British fought in South East Asia was likened to the Slalingrad of the East. There truly is a reason the British in Asia are described as the forgotten.

    I think lots of us BF2 players have repeatedly asked for what we want: BF2 with the Frostbite engine, more weapons, more vehicles, bigger maps (50+ a side) and decent physics.

    The graphical style looked bizzarely like BF:Heroes then. It's also billed as a 'download only stopgap' on the left. BF:Heroes with first person mode, and not-free to play? Just seems odd.

    And the graphical style there is _really_ off-putting.

    The Pacific front: much more fun than the usual European grit. I just hope someone hacks it so all vehicles explode the second any of the vehicle hugger cunts get inside them, so the rest of us normal people can have their fun.

    Hope its good 1942 was the best of the series, bf2 was an unbalanced bug fest with the worst patches in living history.

    Hopefully they won't dumb the gameplay down, and if it's got ctf mode its a sale!

    Yawn, I really wish companies would stop flogging the dead horse of WW2 and expand upon the settings which were actually fresh as well as enjoyable.
    BF2142 was superb, far better than 1942 and BF2 IMO. Same with COD4, it was way better than any of the previous games, and was better than COD5 too.
    Please please please leave the WW2 setting alone and bring out a sequel to BF2142, or failing that I'll settle for BF3 in a cutting edge modern (like GRAW or even COD4) or near future setting.
    Now that I would buy immediately.

    Looks like a really good map for ET: Quake Wars. I frikkin love the planes engine sound but the rest is... unexpectedly boring. Sounds similar to EA's strategy of churning out 4 NFS-s at a time so I'm looking forward to the next 2 announcements of simultaneous Battlefields that have slightly altered grass height (on the same island obviously). Cheers EA!

    The wwII theme is boring imo... I would rather se a second modern warefare type or a sequel to the (forgotten?) Vietnam game! That was ace!

    I got BF1942 on pc already just looks the same but more clear.Prop DL on the PS3 if it doe's not cost to much

    hey guys, cod5 plays better than cod 4 and the weapons are more interesting. STOP GOING ON ABOUT HOW CRAP WW2 GAMES ARE BECAUSE REVIEWERS SAY SO, all fps's play the same with a few minor differences differentiating them... the whole genre seems tired...

    Looks like Team Fortress, but even more cartoonish.

    This is about as close to WWII as Frogger is quantum physics.
    Everything moves too fast / unrealistically. All objects are explodable, perhaps even metal buckets will create a mushroom cloud. Trees are falling like brambles, like it was Cannon Fodder.

    Is there any game that matches visual quality with realistic gameplay?
