Awesome trailer ruined by unnecessary thrash metal :p

Not sure on this. I love my shooters, but I must say that the original (which I played and still oen on DC) never quite 'clicked' with me in the same way that other shooters have. Perhaps a cheeky demo play to test the waters....

    Oh yes indeed!

IMHO Bangai on the Dreamcast is Treasure's most under-appreciated game and is right up there with their best work. Like Alien Soldier it isn't immediately accessible but once you "get" it you'll find an incredibly tight shmup that actually rewards kamikaze tactics through having your smart-bomb power in proportion to the amount of enemy ordnance in close proximity to you. This actively encourages you to get stuck in head first instead of turtling at the peripheries of the action. Man I love that game. :)

So yeah, bring on "Missle" Fury!

Awesome trailer made even more awesome by totally necessary thrash metal that complements the scenes of destruction :)

I guess we'll just have to take their word for it that it's HD...

Also, I loved the original N64 version more than words can adequately express - it's easily my favourite Treasure game - but for some reason I just never got on with the DS version. I really, really wanted to love it, but I just couldn't.

I think perhaps for my tastes they'd overcomplicated things with the choice of weapon loadouts. I was more than happy with just being able to switch between my lasers and homing missiles, thanks.

So if this new game is closer to the DS version than it is to the original then, as sad as it makes me to say it, I don't think it's for me.

Negged my #5 comment? Really?? I was trying to start a genuine discussion on the series' gameplay, and also trying to explain how a series that I loved dearly at the beggining has in my eyes taken a bit of a mis-step.

But it seems like I'm wasting my time.

    EG, your voting system sucks.
