I really didn't like that curved town thing they had in AC:WW. Why is it back? Still, I know I'll be on this for hours every day. Stupid addictive, goalless game.

Ah, excellent, I missed the theme tune at the conference demonstration...good to hear it's back. :)

I don't know why but this looks fantastic.
I don't know, I think it is some kind of nintendo magic thing. Like in Zelda TP when you took a bug to that girl and she made that happy sound or like the storybook in Mario Galaxy. It's just moments which really should not mean anything to you but end up meaning the world to you. Wierd, but cool

    So what's new?

It looks like a slightly higher-res version of the crappy DS version I wasted my time with a couple of years ago.

Come on Nintendo - We know you're already winning, but at least try to do something new... At least for old times' sake.

Stuz359: That's actually an almost touching sentiment, and I agree with it quite deeply. Nice one, man. :)

This type of game just makes me want to hug my pc screen ^_^

Loved the original Animal Crossing and enjoyed the DS version but I'm yet to see anything that makes this a compelling purchase. What are the distinguishing new features?

So... is this on the DS? Or is Nintendo just not bothering with graphics on the Wii?

"s Nintendo just not bothering with graphics on the Wii?"

    I think that's the idea - yes..

Whether or not that's a bad thing is up for debate.

I hope there's a new content that simply wasn't demo'd in this video, as it feels like deja vu all over again. Not that I won't buy it anyway. *sob*

Hmm, looks like it offers very little new things over Wild World.

There's the internet conferencing with multiple players visiting your town. You can put on a Mii "mask" and visit a city it seems.

I've been really looking forward to this, but I hate that the game world curves the same as in Wild World. I thought they just did that due to technical limitations on the DS or something. I know I'll probably get used to it, but I prefer the GameCube look. This whole video is disappointing really.

hey, chistourlord - no need to be so sour.
I get the impression you have no idea what this series is about, its not about high-scores and certainly not teabagging.
    But give it another go.
    Its about relaxin' and interacting.

As much as I love this game - truly one of my favourite games ever - I'm really struggling to see the added value in playing this for a third time.

The actual village looks more or less identical to the DS one, I was hoping for something miles bigger with it being the console version. Would have been nice to have more places to explore (the city thing not being enough) rather than being able to cross the entire map in 30 seconds.
