Looking very good indeed. I understand from a Remedy post on their forum that the game is shipping with an On, Off and Smart V-Sync option too which is a nice feature for people like myself who despise screen tearing in any form.

Well, at least the audio effects sound great.

Not sure if I like the idea of slow-mo every time I try to dodge an attack. Same slow-mo too. Just finished Arkham Asylum and one of the things that made that so much fun was that the slow-mos were varied. Looks OK though for what this video shows.

I only played the original last week; I quite enjoyed it actually- but then it did only cost me £7. I dare say I will play this when it hits 800pts.

I simply can't get behind this. Alan Wake wasn't a run & gun brainless shooter, I dislike the emphasis with American Nightmare. It seems cheap to me. I know it's flagged as a standalone Alan Wake on XBLA, but then why include a story mode at all, one that appeals to people like me who want more of what we had in the original? As much as I'm salivating over the story mode, I can't justify buying it for the fact it probably represents 30% of the overall content (that's the impression I get from the promotional hype, the story mode has barely had a look in). American Nightmare isn't what I want from any kind of Alan Wake game, spin-off half-sequel or not, it looks and feels like it's sold out completely. And the most depressing part is that the success of this will probably effect the content of any potential sequel.

@Malino6 From what I remember of the original the slow mo dodge only happens when you dodge really late in the attack just missing the blade, if you dodge early it doesn't give a slow down.

The original Alan Wake had the slow mo dodges perfectly done in a similar way to Arkham Asylum/City and they never really got annoying, more of a reward for dodging awesomely. I find both games have a moreish gameplay style that I really enjoyed.

Plus watching it feels very different to playing as you don't have any built up tension from not wanting to die or the fact the original was spooky as fuck :p

    Can't wait!
