    old

    looks like a PS1 game
  • Zerimski #2 6 years ago

Did you actually watch the video?

I like the 'In the Mouth of Madness' vibe but why did that poxy gate vex him so? I have aged relatives that could have hopped around that bulwark.

Keeping up the Max Payne tradition of having a horribly gurning actor for the promo stuff. Hope we get too see more in game. I also note they're giving the Far Cry crowd a run for their money for the 'Lumpiest Water In A Videogame' award.

Looks great still (Titti just don't comment if thats the most sensible thing that comes out of your mouth)

Looking forward to this - but when will i be able to play it?? NO more information about it at all , just a tiny bit more video to keep interest up.

Oh and the problem with the gate? It's called suspense.
  • Tiiti #5 6 years ago

it was a joke... sheesh! :p
  • Darkedge #6 6 years ago

in that case - hahaha, oh my sides are splitting..

looks lovely, though this trailer is almost a year old...
The kind of game that'll succeed or fail on the strength of its atmosphere I imagine. Anyone know what engine it uses out of interest?
  • Tiiti #8 6 years ago

I bet Darkedge gets all the ladies with that sarcastic humour.
    You go boy!

anyway back to the game... it does look bloody fantastic :)
  • Darkedge #9 6 years ago

it's Remedy's own engine, just like the MaxFX engine was for max payne 1&2. But this one is built from the ground up for Alan Wake.
seems like improvement all round then tiiti ;)

Sorry couldn't that as a joke originally and there have been too many trolls making supposedly serious comments like that - not to mention the first post retards

"Oh and the problem with the gate? It's called suspense."

That's supposed to be suspenseful? Uh-oh.

I'd love it to have a Day and Night thing going on where you have to scavage for resources, look for a decent place to hide and anything that will keep you interested and invested in the game during the day, as long as it's done right.

Just imagine the suspense when you're rushing to get somewhere safe, like in the vid, and watch the sun ebb away and just know 'they' (whoever they might be of course) are coming for you now. That kinda of thing would get me excited indeed.

    Well... survival horror...

Nobody else think this LOOKS nice but has a dreadful sounding story?

"OMG! My nightmare book wants to eat me!"

    FFS, need a real story?

Yes and no. 99,99% of all stories of games are dreadful. But fortunately, the story isn't important. It's not about the what, but about the how, and about atmosphere.

I'm realy looking forward to this, here's hoping it can break away from its Silent Hill image. e.g searching for lost love, manifestation of nightmares, old American town, darkness/light of different worlds.

Looking forward to this, anyone else getting a strong "It Came From The Desert" vibe? :)

Max Payne blew. Max Payne 2 was pretty bad. This? Well...
  • dudefella #19 6 years ago

    Max Paynes were awesome, troll.

This sounds like it's going to be more of a personal/psychological story, much like Max Payne's. Don't think you should put too much stock into the nightmare elements, I think the personal parts of the story will easily make up for that.

    I'm looking forward to this.

Very much so. The town actually looks like an amazing place to explore. I hope there is a lot of day to day interaction to be had in the town before the Sh*t hits the fan. Obvious strong element of the Shining and a hint of The Fog at the end there too. All good elements if it comes together right. I'll be watching this one with interest.
