I predict that this game will sell a shedload of units.
    Im happy about this.

Make this a psn or xbl download and i will be all over it. Not only because it looks like fun but i want to see my friends reaction when they see im playing "Goat Simulator".

There is too much seriousness in this world. This game reminds me that we all should just have a bit of fun now and again. And i like goats. I think they have a lot of character.

If anyone genuinely believes that this game is being held back for "polishing" then i have some magic beans to sell you.

Its being held back to maximise sales of the xbone titanfall bundle. Anyone with half a brain cell can see that.
I think devs have got a decent handle on designing games for the 9 year old xbox by now.

Poor show by EA but a good business decision no doubt. I bought the titanfall bundle last friday so yeahh, it definitely is helping shift xbones.

  • wogsy81 18/03/2014

To all you naive fools who are saying "it's not a demo". Well what is it then??

Is this a honest to goodness, bona-fide game? A staple part of the MGS franchise with a strong narrative that has a beginning, middle and an end like "full games" do?

No it isn't. It's a freaking demo. Take off your blinkers and stop being so naive.

  • wogsy81 18/03/2014

Just like them Gran Turismo prologue demos i will avoid this out of principle. Charging full price for a 2 hour demo is taking the piss.

Konami say they are bringing this demo out to "help people get accustomed with the new gameplay mechanics before the release of Phantom Pain" which im sure you know is a load of bullshit.

They have released this glorified demo just to make a quick buck.
I'm one of the biggest MGS fans there is. I've played and completed them all but i will not be getting this until it drops to the 5 mark at the most.
And don't give me that nonsense about their being extra missions etc etc.
Its a 2 hour demo dressed up as a full priced game. It could have a 100 extra missions but if they are all boring crap set in the exact same enviroment as the main mission then its not new content. It's just some filler to sweeten the blow of being shafted up the arse.

I love the MGS series but releasing this demo and charging people for it is a shitty move. It means MGS fans have to pay basically twice as much to play 1 game. At least the MGS2 demo was given away free with Zone Of The Enders. This time Konami have just decided to charge us as much as they think they can get away with.

  • Iwata: Nintendo losses won't mean "Mario on smartphones"

  • wogsy81 20/01/2014

Nintendo really need to start moving with the times. They think it's still 1994 judging by some of the decisions they make.

Kids these days don't care about Mario or Zelda. And neither do many adults judging by their sales numbers. Kids these days care about shooting people, they care about playing Fifa, Madden etc. And they care about doing all of this ONLINE against their friends.

Nintendo really are terrible when it comes to their online strategy and their console manufacturing. Move with the time for fucks sake. People want cutting edge hardware, people want a good robust online infrastructure. Not some shitty underpowered console that has a 3rd rate cheaply made tablet as a controller.

And it's a shame that an amazing game like Mario 3D world will never get played by the vast majority of gamers. A damn shame but Nintendo only have themselves to blame. The market has changed. People's tastes have changed. Its a shame Nintendo haven't.

Nintendo really need some fresh blood in their upper management.

    What a load of bullshit.
I mean seriously. Does he really expect people to believe this nonsense?
They done it for 1 reason and 1 reason only. And that's money. They done it to milk every last fucking penny they could out of their customers.

Whats that? You've paid $450 quid for the console. 40 quid for your xbox live subscription. 50 pound for the game. And that's still not enough for microsoft. They want some more of your money just so you can enjoy the game. As much money as your willing to give them.

This guy is an employee of Microsoft. He can dress it up all he likes with "we have our own culture here, MS leave us alone to get on with things' but we all know that is a load of bullshit. If MS tell him to jump then this guys replies with "how high"

Money grabbing cunts they are. They don't give a fuck about the fanbase, or to get people excited about cars and games. (yeah really). They done it for money. If fucking over the fans means more money then that is what they will do.

@Starmick Sorry mate but some video made by MIT doesn't count.
Until it's working in a home enviroment as part of an actual game then i remain unconvinced.

You remember nintendo's pulse monitor thing that clamped on to your finger. This thing-

Well nintendo had to scrap it because it wasn't realiable enough.
If something that actually straps on to your finger cant work properly to measure heart rate then i very much doubt a camera can. And have it be reliable enough to be utilized in a game.

Im sorry mate but until i see it incoporated into a game and it works flawlessly or close to it then i reckon microsoft are talking shit.

I'll believe it when i see it.
I've heard these guys make silly promises before about the kinect and its capabilities. Im sure we all have.

I will remain skeptical until i see it working on an xboxone while adding to the game experience and being used in someones home.
An MIT video taken in a controlled enviroment does not convince me im afraid.

  • wogsy81 16/11/2013

Do these earliest of early adopters rush back to their homes, plug in their PlayStation 4s, slap in a game and fall about in paroxysms of orgasmic joy? Or do they stare at the screen and say, wait a minute. This isn't the next generation I was looking for.
I really liked this bit of writing.
I think about this kind of stuff a lot. I also get buyers remorse a lot too :) I think its basically testament how we build stuff up so much in our minds that nothing can ever live up to the hype. Once we got it in our homes and it's real then the excitement of unknowing is gone and the stark reality hits us. And that reality is some pretty average launch games that have a shinier lick of paint. Nothing more nothing less.
Im not expecting great things from the PS4 or Xbone for a year or 2 yet.
