It reminded me of Hexen and I really liked the idea of somthing along those lines being hopefully bought up to date and it was on my radar.

Didn't get on with Dead island and not tried dying light yet, I would like to but I'm not sure if I will find it too much like Dead island.

I hope it comes back soon.

I'll no doubt give it a go to see what how my connection copes with it.

I'd be more interested to be able to play some of the PS1 and 2 games I missed out on originally, most PS3 games I wanted to play I managed to.

As I plus subscriber it would be a nice touch to get a free rental a month or somthing. But I imagine that Sony will end up with a subscription model that covers plus as well as now once it's all up and running.

I wonder if the game is development is quite departure from PT. I could be that the tone or style might have changed slightly, they might even be releasing a different demo at some point in the future that is more representative of the final game.

They have scrapped what has been done and started again without involvment from Kojima? Has he possibly quit the project even?

    Some many possibilities.

Am I the only person that wishes they would invest it better batteries for smart phones. My S3 mini is the first one I've ever owned that I would consider the battery on half decent. Whats the point in an all powerful handset if you can't be more than 20 feet away from an electrical socket? Perhaps I'm showing my age a bit but I liked it better when phones lasted more than a day or two without needing to be charged up again! Reply +5

    @Miles_SI

Hi Miles, thanks for your input into the thread. It's nice when devs take the time to get involved with the community.

While I appriciate and understand there are a number of minute changes under the hood every year as an average end user they are so minute that I don't actually notice them. I like the changes to the tactics in FM15 and it's made the that particular part of the game much more flexible than I can remember it being for a while but with the exception of that and the UI changes it all feels very similar. As I said earlier in the discussion I've missed a few installments but haven't felt like I've missed out on much because I just can't see the changes with the exception of the database update because they appear to me to be so minute.

I know there is only so much you can change with a game like FM, it's the same as any other annual release in that respect.

I've lost far too much time to your series over the years. Not sure if I should thank you for that or not! I'm not bored of the formula or anything but I'm thinking I need to perhaps give it a rest for a couple of years so it feels a bit fresher when I start up again.

Football manager doesn't have any real competition since EA dropped it's Fifa manager series. Which is a shame as I think it could have helped keeping the series on it's toes.

I used to buy it every year but over the last few years I've missed out a few releases and not really felt I've missed anything. I've also found myself struggling to gain momentum when I've started a game. I bought FM15 at launch and have had a blast with classic mode but perhaps it's just my game but it seems to be running out of decent players once you reach a certain point. The good players are retiring and the computer generated ones are average (talent wise) at best.

It's a great series but it needs a good kick up the backside.

Got the retail disc yesterday. I've just completed the first episode and started the second one.

  • With the announcement of the NX, Nintendo admits defeat with the Wii U

  • thor_hammer 18/03/2015

I've just got my Wii U back following a repair from Nintendo. I can't say I really missed it during the two months I was without it. Which as a Nintendo fan feels quite hard to say.

I buy Nintendo consoles for the 1st party games, unfortunately the releases have been a little thin on the ground for me. I was really underwhelmed with the new Smash Bros for some reason and as well as that Mario Kart and Bayonetta are the only three games I've picked up for it in about the last 12 months. Really enjoyed MK and Bayonetta though.

There does seem to be a few more games on the horizon so hopefully it might go out with a bang. I just think Nintendo have been a bit scant with their own software output for it.

  • Yasuhisa Kawamura and the Resident Evil that never was

  • thor_hammer 18/01/2015

I like the hookman concept but I've always wondered how it would have held up as a full game. I would have liked to see more on it but there is only so much footage about.

I think resi perhaps needs a clean break and a fresh start. As has been said there is far too much backstory and it just seems to get more cluttered and convoluted with each release.

Resi 4 as I have said before is one of my favorite games of that generation. On the whole I felt it balanced the action and the tension quite well. Resi 5 was ok but 6 was really nothing more than a competent action game in a resi skin.

It might be interesting to see if the upcoming HD Resi 1 reception has any bearing on the future direction of the series.

  • Video: Resident Evil HD - what still works and what doesn't

  • thor_hammer 16/01/2015

It was never really going to change too much. It's a piece of nostalgia for some and a curio for those that perhaps don't know resi's roots.

The controls are part of the charm for me same as the door animations but it would have been nice to give the option to turn the door animations off.

I wish capcom would go back to the classic tense resi or at least find some middle ground between old and new. It saddens me that it's become almost like a shooter.

I got an xbox one for xmas. I'm really pleased with it. I got a kinectless bundle as I didn't really want it.

Really enjoying Forza Horizon 2 at the moment.

As a latecomer to the party I imagine I've missed out on some of the teething problems that have been eradicated with various updates.

As a PS4 owner too I can't help but feel a touch of complacency with sony and their console at the moment. They need to pull their finger out a bit I suppose.

Looking at the upcoming releases though I can't help but think games is somthing both need to address.

  • The Nintendo difference: Wii U's first two years

  • thor_hammer 29/11/2014

I'm quite happy with my Wii U. It's has had more use than my PS4 this year and has had some stellar releases recently.

I'll always like Nintendo games and I don't think I could do without them to be honest. It's just a shame that the third party output for the system is along the line of the Wii. Crap ports and cheap shovelware. The thing is that original third party games don't tend to sell very well for one reason or another.

I would love to see ZonbiU 2 but realistically due to the sales figures it's unlikley to happen. Or if it does it won;t be a system exclusive and would most likley mean a half arsed port.

  • Amazon Black Friday week deals continue

  • thor_hammer 24/11/2014

Hung about to have a look at the xbox one offer and it was roughly what I expected it to be. A little too expensive for me though but decent value for what you got I think. If I can get a decent bundle around the 300 mark I might bite.

Got shadow warriors on the PS4 the other day for just under 20 which I didn't think was too bad at all.

The problem with this black friday week is that a lot of it is crap with a few decent things scattered here and there.

  • thor_hammer 16/11/2014

The first Deus Ex is one of my favorite games ever. I didn't mind the second for what it was but it just couldn't live up to it's illustrious predecessor for me.

With the exception of the infuriating boss battles Human Revolution was a welcome return to somthing like the first game.

I really like the sound of the games here that sadly didn't come to anything. Maybe some of the ideas will be reused in any future games in the series.

  • Who needs games: PlayStation 4's first year

  • thor_hammer 15/11/2014

I've had a PS4 since launch. In hindsight I probably should have been thinking about picking one up in time for this years xmas. I think that it is just starting to hit it's stride in terms of good games coming out for it and there would have been a bit of a backlog of games I want to play on it.

My PS3 and Wii U have had the most use this year by a mile. I haven't really used my PS4 for media either as I can't use my harmony with it like I can my PS3. I don't regret my purchase at all but I could have held off longer without really missing out on anything.

Square-enix probably didn't want to pit it against uncharted 4 on the PS4 (presuming they are launching at the same sort of time) Microsoft have chucked them a few quid to pit it against uncharted 4 on their console instead in the hope of shifting a few more units.

  • thor_hammer 17/07/2014

They perhaps should have looked as already said at patnering/collaborating with other studios on tv projects and perhaps had the original programs premier on Xbox and later on terrestrial/sattelite TV channels.

Mine took a fair amount of falls etc over the years but still worked flawlessly until one day not long ago I went to it and found the screen had stopped working for some reason but 10 for over 20 years of gaming can't be bad.
