"The bits that are on that disc, you can give it to your friend and they can install it on an Xbox One," he said. "They would then have to purchase the right to play that game through Xbox Live."
"They would be paying the same price we paid, or less?" we asked.
"Let’s assume it’s a new game, so the answer is yes, it will be the same price," Harrison said.
So it sounds like all that buying a second hand disk will do is save you having to download it, otherwise the price will as likely as not be the same as a full price purchase from the market place. Reply+3
I think the hardware differences between the two will be slim, so it'll come down to exclusives and (more important to me) what Microsoft end up doing with Live. Hopefully we'll see the back of being charged to go on-line and something to rival PS+ Reply+2
You should be able to use the web store. Every time I try to access the Swedish store I get redirected to the UK store (too clever Sony, too clever). Try going here and following the link. Reply+1
You might be able to buy PS+ without having a PS3 or Vita. You can sign up to a SEN account and I'd have thought purchase stuff... maybe ask on the blog and see what they say? Reply+6
Actually, I have to 'fess up, my last comment was BS. I actually have a PS+ subscription but the day before the IGC games come out I go online and buy them at full price. I also go on Amazon and buy physical copies where I can, just can't resist p*ssing my money away! Reply+5
Yep, I (perhaps naively) assumed the question was referring to the PS3 / Vita release.
Pretty interesting interview with Mike Bithell here.
As to Danny Wallace, he's not everyone's cup of tea, but he's a fellow gamer and is prepared to support small indie projects like this, so he gets a thumbs up from me. Reply+7
anyone else getting a wee bit sick of comments with little forethought and no knowledge of the subject matter?
For me, making a comment with points like that is not "improving the discussion" it's masking a lack of basic intelligence.
I appreciate this comment is a shambling, poorly thought out waste of space, but I'll finish it off with a statement that shows I'm aware of this, maybe "inb4 tidal wave of negs" would do. Reply+5
It was released last week and it really is very good. There's a lot more to the game than it would appear on the surface, to be able to give true personality to rectangles is an achievement in itself. Reply0
This has been discussed on Reddit with comments from the Developer:
dev here: that's hardly a fair comparison. Zynga pretty much copied the game mechanics of Tiny Tower to the point where entire screens look and work the same, added their own graphics and used their power in the market to promote the game. We were inspired by GDS but then invented our own gameplay and mechanics. We developed our game from scratch. Sure, it might seem similar (it's a game dev simulator!) but the inner workings on how to make a game and what creates a hit-game are entirely different. Anyway, a lot of GDS players who have played the full game enjoyed our take on the genre.
Zynga are mentioned because the previous comment in the thread gives them as an example of ripping off someone else's game. Reply+21
Sadly Sony don't price the games on the store, that's all governed by the publishers. You'd be surprised how many people still pay full retail price for games. I've had numerous discussions with friends on where to get games cheap, pointed them at Gamestracker etc. but I'd say 75% of them still pay full whack (or whatever price Asda are charging that day). @arcam I'm glad it's not a touch screen; controllers cost a fortune as it is, god knows how much a replacement touch screen controller would cost  Reply+5
Sorry, but is this the same Peter Molyneux who designed Populous, Powermonger and Syndicate? It's like finding out Van Gogh's just taken a dump on the floor of the Tate modern and is charging £20 a time to sniff it. Reply+28
