  • Titanfall Xbox 360 footage arrives online

  • orangpelupa 07/04/2014

now the million dollar question is....

How they fit 50 GB game to 8 GB DVD in xbox 360?

On PC, their arguments is that they need to use uncompressed audio to reduce CPU load. But on Xbox 360 with even slower CPU how can it fit in 8 GB DVD?

@homerramone omg i was eating chicken and choked when reading your comment lol.

btw it goes both ways, MS can argue, the xbox 360 version can be done because the power of the cloud.

some logics is offloaded to cloud, reducing xbox 360 cpu load

  • Watch Dogs PC recommended specs are pretty tasty

  • orangpelupa 07/04/2014

@Guy.J. the spec though, is quite low. It only use Intel HD as the GPU.

all of its spec is much slower than PS4 except the SSD. And it can run Titanfall.

but yeah, some devs make bad port or just buggy everywhere. Dice with its Battlefield always swarmed by bugs.

btw i like when developer say it themselves the good and bad of their work BEFORE the game released.

like Dark Souls developer telling that the PC port will be bad, because we dont have experience.

like Kojima Production giving screenshot and video comparison (with analysis clearly showing the differences) of every console version of Metal gear Solid V.

@Playstationman cell is not a choice for PS4 due to many cirumstances.

but sorry i cant really explain it, its been long time ago and im too tired to google.

pulling this from the "cloud of my hazy mind": basically its boils down to
+ the availability of AMD APU (and im sure Sony and MS got a nice price)
    - the support of CELL development is no longer there

  • orangpelupa 07/04/2014

@Guy.J. the thing is, PS4 and Xbox One is basically a PC.

so games should be much easier to be ported to PC.

the problem is, will this result in good port? or will result in reduction of porting budget and result in the same always bad port quality?

    dunno :D

why cpu clock on console is low
    - because they need to follow the temperature design. Thats why console have such small body

why recommended on PC is crazy CPU?
    - because the recommended on PC is having more quality than on PS4

    - because the game is badly optimized on PC

@Boomerang but typo and wrong grammar is good to fire up discussion.

this is crowdsourcing the work. Just like bethesda with their bugs.

btw if i remember correctly, Eurogamer post should have delay time between posting and publish on public. So there is a chance for proofreading.

Staff write article, staff publish an article to internal server/cache.

then post from internal server/cache goes to the Live Server

@ShiftyGeezer You honestly cannot compare Apple to MSI. Apple are MASTERS at creating incredible, well designed pieces of hardware.
looks well designed but not durable (old products, before 2014. I have not tried apple in 2014)

    - macbook. have a body that easily dent
    - iPhone,iPod, ipad. have a body that easily scratch

For products that look good and have durable exterior, i usually go for Sony. Although their software is always a mess (on the other hand, the software on Apple products is relatively bug free compared to Sony's)

@curryking3 yeah there are a few gaming notebook that look decent, but most of it looks ugly.

    -- rambling on---

do the design team did not have a say in gaming notebook? Because it hi-spec first and design second?

why some producers make its component timer limited instead of thermal. and why xbox one is that big while ps4 is that small.

  • Sony survey hints at possible PlayStation 4 features

  • orangpelupa 02/04/2014

codes does can be copy-paste to other projects.

Translation is just changing the words. Of course the way translation team change the words will be different.

but generally, translation is just changing words from file/database.

of course after copy-paste code or translation there still testing step and killing bugs

for example, things as simple as translating ONE sentence from japanese to english can break the game layout if the english translation was too overly long.

    about PC controller,
i would stop considering to buy new PC if PS4 support KB/M.

currently PC/Laptop is for FPS. Console for anything else. of course this need will be different from one person to another.

  • DICE promises to tackle Battlefield 4 rubber-banding

  • orangpelupa 02/04/2014

but is it really the hardware performance issue?

TITANFALL was awesome, they allow the public to see server load (just add showfps command line)

if BF4 have this feature too, gamers can easily see what is making the lag. Maybe its not the server load, maybe its the connection on server or from client.

although most of the rubberbanding i experienced was from the server. It works fine after ADMIN restart the server.

  • From Software explains changes to Dark Souls 2 graphics

  • orangpelupa 19/03/2014

i dont think the pc version will bring back the original graphic quality. Im sure DS2 will use the same 3D asset for all platform.

so the detailed 3d model that used in old DS2 videos wont come to PC, but the overall image quality effect can be brought back to PC if they give the PC version proper attention.

This is not necerally the dev fault, it can be the publisher fault, or simply just an over eager team when making the demo and actually its hard to be translated in full game to be released on schedule.

    pardon my English

@Chazmeister thats what BFBC2, BF3, BF4, and many other games do. Only include the needed language.

i buy BF3 Russia Edition because its way cheaper than the english version. It comes without english.

i manually download the english data from the internet.

For those that complaints "they forget to compress the audio", "for christ sakit, just compress the audio".

The audio is already compressed, then when installing it is extracted. They just decide to not use realtime extraction.

What I'm baffled with is... Why they include audio for all languages?

  • orangpelupa 11/03/2014

    About piracy,

The average pirate didn't download the game for free.

They either buy the pirated game from shopping mall, mail order, door to door delivery, or just copy it from their friend.

The piracy not limited to games. On schools and office, the teacher or IT admin will casually give a copy of pirated software.

On the other hand, buying original game and software is much harder and time consuming. It needs full up-front payment to pre order popular game (it will out of stock), it will be mailed a few days late.

If going to shopping mall trying to buy original game, you won't find any. Only very few mall in a few big cities sell original games.

  • Respawn fighting Titanfall cheaters

  • orangpelupa 13/03/2014

@Respawn please add special lobby for cheater or unofficial modders, don't ban their origin ID/game (like what rockstar do on MaxPayne 3 MP)

you did not give mod support, at least allow creative gamers to do what they want to do in special lobby/room/session.

so "officially" you can disallow mod and follows your term with EA. "Unofficially", creative gamers and modders can hack away your game to be something more awesome (or ridiculous) in special lobby/room.

i imagine a simple cheat like "gravity changer" would make titanfall more fun (in silly way).

  • orangpelupa 12/02/2014

hmm Simon, can you enlighten me about the technical stuff?

does the game stutter in gameplay?
does the costume changes have any effect in story? (for example, every cutscene the costume back to default / cutscene become silly and interesting while wearing afro).
does the image quality stay consistent the whole time? on previous FF13, it took a nosedive when bink video was played. It was pretty apparent on FF13-2 every load game.
