I keep looking for another game like Valkyria Chronicles. I just love the style of it. I keep trying these other cel animated JRPGs and they just don't cut it. The strategic fighting in VK just presses my buttons. The standard button maching "turn based JRPG" just doesn't do it for me... :( Reply+1
@captain_Carl - I'd in no way call those games shit, but I can see your point though - it is like they have previously peaked and the newer stuff just isn't as good. Reply-1
In all honesty I can't say I blame them. It isn't like they just made up a country name like a lot of other modern era games (eg, like Durkadurkastan or whatever in Operation Flashpoint) Reply0
I can sort of see his point, but some game makers are their own worst enemy making games just too... epic. I mean seriously a lot of games these days you need to take a week off work to play them properly. Do they make them that big to shatter competition, or infinite budgets? I like a game I can finish over a weekend in amongst other chores...
Homefront was awesome in my books. I am only a single player gamer though. I don't care for online. I'd gladly pay less for Homefront single player... Reply-2
I loved that recent Simpsons game - the multi platform one. I keep feeling the urge to dig it out and replay it on my PS3, but have too many other games to play. Hit and Run was pretty cool too. Reply0
@redbarony - Yeah, SA was my fav too for a lot of those reasons. The whole Gangsta stuff got a little tired, and was the reason I stopped playing soon after I got to the end. I was wanting to just explore and do other stuff and find things, but the continual turf battles that kept popping up were as tedious as the GTA4 man and woman dates... Reply0
I got mine at Zavvi for £17.99 - with the offer of DKNY 3-Pack Boxers plus BF3 for £36.97. I'm not sure if the offer is still around. I needed the undies anyhow lol. Reply0
I wonder how come over the millennia books have been about, we've never heard this crap from authors? I mean do you hearing them bitching about libraries? Or about closing down second hand bookstores? Fark, these greedy prick game publishers make me sick. And I'll never go digital only on games, until I'm literally forced.
The other thing about digital games is the prices. They are no better than physical media, and they never drop in price. Eg, 6 months after release I can buy a physical game from the UK for about 18 pounds, down from a release price of 40 or so. Online though, they stay the same, with occasional little specials like they are doing some god damn favour. Reply+6
Background downloads of ALL updates (game included) would be a godsend...
I frankly find game updates more obnoxious. I'm on high speed cable. I popped in BFBC2 for the first time to play it. 1.8GB update needed. Download time: 500 minutes. So I finish work on a weekend, I just want to relax and play a new game I got. No such luck. It is like I have to preplan it and load the games the day before. It ticks me.
The PS3 updates I find less annoying. I don't go online to play, so I can always skip them until I need to do something online. Game updates though, sure you can skip but not a good idea, Reply+4
I know Nintendo have their fans, and I hate to thread dump, but it is hard to just sit quiet with all the low end stuff these clowns put out year after year after year, and the hardware "patches". I can't understand why anyone supports them. Reply-2
I've said this before, but I don't understand why they can make the screen and controls side if the devices separate. Eg, say an iphone type device that docks into the controls section of it. It would be an unbeatable combo. Hell, you could do that for an iphone. Reply0
What an ahole. If single player games are go9ne in three years, I will not be buying any more games in three years. What an utter retard statement. How can you compare a story with the chaos of online gaming? Reply+1
Ah god no. A Silent Hill top down MP game? Nooooo!!!!!!!!!
That reminds me of the one thing I find the movie really missed. In all of the Silent Hill, what was the maximum number of people in any one scene. Two? Maybe 3. Reply+1
