I installed classic shell on day 1 of using Windows 8 after I had to use google to find out how to shut down the flippin' thing (without using alt-f4 or ctrl-alt-del).
I've worked in IT for 10 years and couldn't believe such a a poor design decision was made.
Microsoft should remember that as well as young hipsters with their touchscreens, there is a nation full of office workers trying to use your OS as a workhorse 8 hours a day for which your tile lay out is nothing short of a fucking abomination. Reply+47
Classic cars and tracks would be an obvious way to expand the franchise.
A change to the frontend isn't a selling point in the slightest to me, just cosmetic drivel.
I bought the last 2 iterations on day 1 and they were both bug ridden, verging on completely broken. Patches took months to roll out and some issues haven't been fixed to this day.
No way am I buying this until it's like a fiver in the Steam sale. Reply0
The single best part of this is how they build the game based on user feedback. We can view and even participate in design meetings and give constant feedback which on the evidence so far, is being taken on board.
This is no Shift or Shift2, I really believe this is going to be massive, taking the best bits of Gran Turismo and Forza on consoles plus iRacing on PC.
It's really coming together in the last few weeks. Reply+3
When you consider Louis CK made over a million dollars releasing his latest stand up show direct to the public through his website, no cut for retailers or distributors, no packaging or printing costs. It cost me approx £3 instead of the £15 other similar shows are going for down the supermarket. According to Louis he also has made WAY more for himself than he would have if he'd went the traditional route.
When you consider that... for digital distribution of games to be 25% MORE expensive than retail, the consumer is getting bent over and royally shafted.
I don't expect parity, I know that EA are the publisher and not the artist here, but it should still cost less than retail every time. Reply+6
I still have a soft spot for this. Sure it was riddled with bugs at launch but driving round a geographically accurate Ibiza in Supercars is quite fun. Reply+3
How about a feature on iRacing EG? It is the industry standard for sim racing after all and could certainly do with a bit more exposure this side of the pond.
I'm a team member at CARS too and it is a very interesting and ambitious project. Looks great so far. Reply+1
I wish devs, or publishers, would remember the massive market that is us over 30's who really don't give a fuck about social networks or multiplayer. Our little niche is getting ever-littler but hopefully Skyrim will sell a bucketload and act as a wakeup call. Reply+11
Another thing that was mentioned was that you would need a subscription fee for 3G (to be expected) but didn't suggest what it would be, just asked what I thought would be reasonable.
Also gave hints at what they were considering for launch titles, don't remember much but I think there was a MGS and a WIPEOUT among 5 or 6 others, all current IPs. Don't know if this is news or not but thought I'd share. Reply+6
Absolute bollocks, you would have to buy just about every single thing that came out every month to reach that figure. I wouldn't even believe it was £6.40. Reply+1
"Like the games where the people who buy it on release are treated like unpaid Beta testers to iron out the bugs the non-existent QA team didn't find. "
Can't say for sure of course, but it would be my guess that there is a QA team, they did find the bugs, but fixing them was not the priority, having the game released on schedule was (in a lot of these cases). Reply+3

This was the first game I ever snapped the disc in half for, as despite being the most frustrating, unfair gaming experience I had ever had, the master league online mode was probably the most addictive.
Ever time I lost a goal due to the player switching in defence being absurd, or the shooting being completeyly unpredictable, I screamed at the telly:
GOD DAMN, THEY BETTER PATCH IN MORE LICENSED BOOTS!! Reply+12
"Great stuff. FFIX is my favourite FF after 7. You can really tell how much the series needed Sakaguchi by comparing the games from the PSone gen and the atrocious FFXIII /spit
The final fantasy series really has dive bombed in quality since Sakaguchi's departure. "
