  • New Zune announcement coming at E3?

  • daft 12/05/2009

I bought their Office suite because I find it to be the one I am most comfortable working with. And it looks ace too. Also, Visual Studio is a mighty, mighty good IDE. One of the absolute best on the market IMO. For me personally, MS is delivering products that I want and that I use on a daily basis, and they are getting better at it all the time. I like Vista (dual booting on my MacBook) and will install Windows 7 quite soon. I also think they are making great strides in the GUI department as well. Look at the upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5 for example. It uses the Zune menu structure and is according the previews I've read much smoother and easier to use than the current WinMo platforms.

I've had my Zune 120GB for quite some time now, and I really love it (in a non-penis insertion sort of way). Lovely menu system, FM radio, and the software is actually user friendly and generally a much more pleasant experience than iTunes (which I hate with a fucking passion now). In fact, the Zune GUI actually made me want a Windows Mobile phone in order to run WinMo 6.5 on once it is out. 6.5 seems much smoother and user friendly than earlier versions of the OS. Oh, and I'm writing this on my MacBook aluminium, so I certainly don't hate Apple. I just think that some of the crap aimed at MS is a bit OT. I for one will at least take a look at what they offer with a potential Zune phone or update to the existing Zune line. Reply 0
  • The Eurogamer TV Show: Cliff Bleszinski on Gears of War 2

I find it a bit strange people are so offended by Cliffy. He seems very level headed and obviously has a passion for making games. I like him. Reply 0
  • Combat Mission: Shock Force

Version 1.07 is actually really, really good. Yes, the stock campaign isn't that immersive, but the combat sure is. I would actually recommend this game now and it has grown considerably since that 5/10 was awarded. Reply 0
  • Call of Duty: World at War - Co-op trailer

This is not at all what I had hoped for. It looked like a multiplayer free for all rather than WWII. Hell, it even lacked the cinematic feel of COD4! Reply 0

Ah, so Germany has finally managed to conquer all of Europe I see. Spain survived because of its neutrality I suppose. Reply 0

  • New Halo 3 disc errors?

  • daft 28/09/2007

Disc read error happened to quite a few with Colin McRae DiRT too, but not much was written about that. Me and a friend compared our discs and mine (which had the disc read error) was all bumpy along the outer edge of the disc. Not the writable surface on the flat part of the disc, but the rim of it. My friends disc (no disc read error) was smooth around the edges. Looked very much like a manufaturing problem and if I had a bad Halo 3 disc with no scratches on the surface, I'd check to see if the rim was uneven or bumpy. Compared to other discs without reading problems the difference is quite niticable. Reply 0

Good thing there's no sex in there. That would have been awful. Sex is the devil. Reply 0
  • More Assassin's Creed confusion

  • daft 06/07/2006

Ooh, the plot thickens. The Norwegian games site Gamer.no apparently called Ubisofts Nordic Product Manager Harald Horsberg who confirmed that the game is PS3 exclusive. I really wish they could make up their minds. :-/ Reply 0

Yep monkey, that's the one. I think they changed the name a year or so ago, and then changed it back recently. Don't know why though. Reply 0
