  The thing that bugs me about this is that I thought it was a mistake to ditch x86 when the 360 came out, for the very same reasons that they are apparently now going back to it. Could I really be that much smarter and more knowledgeable than the folks running the Xbox division for the last eight years or so?

  @HotCoffee While I agree that Ballmer is not who I'd have running the company, I think most of your points about Microsoft are erroneous. For instance, you say that Microsoft has "pretty much failed at every new product..." during the last decade is ludicrous. Laughable, really. Almost all of their server products have been runaway successes. Windows Server, SQL Server, Sharepoint, etc have all been resounding successes. Windows 7 is a very good OS and I believe has had sales success. Furthermore, the Entertainment division (Xbox and Live) have been profitable for years now. I'm not even sure your statement about coming in third in the console race is true - 360 and PS3 are essentially dead-even. With the Wii falling flat on it's face for the last couple of years after the fad died down.
  
  Please provide specifics if you think you can support your assertions, and I won't discount you as just another raving anti-MS basher. Reply 0

  There are a lot of pretty senseless comments here regarding the danger a Steam Console presents to the Xbox and other traditional gaming platforms.
  
  For one thing, it runs some version of 'nix (Linux/Unix). Very, very, very few Steam games have a linux version. I'm talking like 40 or so games (List of Games). Sure, there would be more if they go the hardware direction, but are there going to be enough support to seriously challenge Windows/Xbox? Not for a long time.
  
  Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming steam - I have over 220 steam games - but why people think this is the death knell for consoles and PC gaming is beyond me.

  @TeaFiend "But AAA is an irrelevant measurement from baseball to show "quite good but not major league good". There was no A or AA, it was just a sign on it's own. I have seen people now refer to games as having all numbers of A as if it makes it make sense. It does not.

  I really wish they'd reverse the gun-order in Gun Master, so everyone starts out with powerful weapons and works their way down. The way it is now, a good player very quickly has an insurmountable and accelerating lead... That, and you could join a Gun Master game late and still have fun, as you'd have more powerful weapons to help you catch up.

  I notice the agreement doesn't specify a period of time in which to "fulfill all rewards of their project." I suppose that loophole could be used to avoid repayment of funds for awhile. I'm not saying that is a good thing, I'm just saying that is a loophole. Unless, of course, there is a guaranteed delivery date built into each Kickstarter project - I don't know that much about it... Reply 0

  I think some folks here might misunderstand what we here in the US mean by "course". It is just a single class - not an entire course of study. We would think of that as a major (or minor).
