You neglected (or forgot) to mention that rumour of a $300 Nextbox also carries a $15 per month charge for 2 years which is an additional $180 that will have to be paid. Reply+6
The 360 is barely leading in worldwide sales (we may get more recent sales data at E3 from both Sony & MS), it was much cheaper than the PS3 for many years (still is in some regions) and launched 12-15 months earlier Reply+4
For anyone complaining about the fixed camera, go back and the read reviews, comments and forum threads for the various Ninja Gaiden titles and more recently, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Reply+2
Thinking about it, I'm certain that the other pre-rendered cutscene is with Old Snake, Ocelot, Naomi and Johnny (don't remember if Vamp was there), where Naomi drops the syringe on the ground for Old Snake.
I need to do another playthrough of this awesome game. Reply0
Some of you are right and some are wrong about the MGS4 cutscenes. Most of them are rendered real time.
I believe that only 2 cutscenes in the entire game are pre-rendered. One is the 2nd half of the cutscene at the end of Chapter 3 (after you get to save the game) with Ocelot standing on the boat.
I can't remember exactly where the other pre-rendered cutscene is (although I'm sure it's an Old Snake/Drebbin one) but the last one which is over an hour long is real-time, not pre-rendered.
MGS4 was also highly compressed on PS3. The game varies in size depending on region due to language support, no one version of the game contains all languages Reply+3
I completed this on PS3 hardest difficulty total stealth and no kills (apart from bosses) about a year ago. It was a fantastic game and I recommend anyone else looking to play this to take the stealth route as it's very satisfying.
The boss fights weren't hard. The first was the trickiest but there are loads of explosives in the room. Reply+3
It's interesting how I see some people claiming that it's time for Sony to create new IPs (looking back at various God Of War, Killzone, Infamous and Uncharted articles) instead of releasing "more of the same" but will turn around and say that Nintendo need to hurry up and release more Super Mario, Zelda and Mario Kart titles (franchises which haven't changed in 20+ years) for the Wii U.
I'm enjoying the Ascension MP but the audio dropouts in the campaign are distracting so I won't be playing it until it's patched. Reply+6
dude that was what originally meant to happen when you pre-ordered games. That they came a day before (was a reason to pre-order).
No it's not. It's a nice bonus when it happens but the idea behind pre-ordering is to guarantee yourself a copy of a game come release day whether over the internet (with the added benefit of home delivery) or brick and mortar.
If you pre-order a something through a brick and mortar store, they are not supposed to sell you the product a day early, otherwise they will have broken the street date. Reply0
I've got it (PS3) although I haven't taken it out of the box yet. Raiden is quite big, much bigger than the Solid Snake that was in the MGS4 Limited Edition box. Reply0

The Last of Us demo that comes with God of War: Ascension won't be available until two weeks before launch
Crackdown (released February 2007) offered access to the Halo 3 beta (available May 2007).
Bulletstorm (released in February 2011) on 360 offered access to the Gears Of War 3 beta (available April 2011).
Medal Of Honor (released October 2010) offered access to the Battlefield 3 beta (available September 2011).
Medal Of Honor: Warfaighter (released October 2012) offered access to the Battlefield 4 beta (due Autumn 2013).
Even Counter-Strike: Condition Zero offered access to the Counter-Strike: Source beta back in 2004.
How are those any different to TLoS demo being offered at a later date to those who purchase God Of War: Ascension? Reply +3
