@Cjail I ordered a couple of times just before christmas, once in the afternoon which arrived the next day and a second time at about 10 pm which took 2 days. That was using their standard free delivery. Reply0
I never managed to finish this game, I liked the setting but it got repetitive pretty quickly. Have to say the Ass 2 trilogy has seriously dampened my enthusiasm for the series, I've got ass fatigue just thinking about playing another one. Reply0
I don't play bullet hell shooters before bed for this reason, I'd be seeing swirly patterns for ages afterwards when I did. If it was a case of my brain memorising the patterns it wouldn't be so bad but I'd wake up in the morning and still be shite at them. Any other type of game seems to have no effect though. Reply0
I managed to get stuck on this game, there was a waypoint I couldn't reach which stopped my progress dead. Seems I was alone in my struggle judging by the early comments. The hours I spent trying to reach the waypoint from every angle were still enjoyable, tainted by frustration and disappointment at my inadequacies - but enjoyable nontheless.
I managed to clear the original though, curious. Reply+3
It was only through letting the opening demo for Ico roll that I realised you could still rescue Yorda as she was being pulled into a shadow-hole. I'd made it about halfway through the game without this knowledge replaying most sections several times, finally got completely stuck for weeks before the receiving the enlightenment. Always watch the intro/demo now. Reply+1
Ahh but if you state that massive sales cheapen ip, and then proceed to have a massive sale you actually add value to your ip. I thought everyone knew that? Reply+3

And that's why it's relevant to look at recent games in retrospect surely? There are plenty of games which receive an overblown reception, where even a few months later a lot of gamers feel differently toward them. Maybe EG should use a different term for these recent look backs because the comments are always full of posts complaining about what qualifies for a retrospective. Reply+6
A lovely read, Wind Waker was one of my favourite games of it's generation. I started it again via Wii recently and none of it's charms have diminished, if anything it's better than I remembered. The visuals play a huge part in that, it's rare to find a polygon game packed with so much character - everything is bursting with it. Snot bubble kid, the dust plumes when fighting, the flame effects etc Reply+4

Are you quite sure about all that? It doesn't tally up with my limited understanding of the matter. That's to say I don't know much but I know some of that isn't correct. Reply+6
I don't think Foghearts point is far-fetched, when it came to light that Microsoft wouldn't allow multi-plat games to launch on 360 which lacked features available in another version the first thing I thought of was move support. At the time I couldn't think of any 3rd party PS360 title with move controls and I still can't now. I wouldn't imagine it's a massive ball ache to include it as an additional control scheme in an FPS for example but it hasn't happened. Reply+3
@persus-9. I have an 11 year old nephew, he's bright & pleasant but if you present him with a challenge or puzzle which isn't immediately solveable he can't be arsed. He must be applying himself elsewhere as he's very capable but not with games. Strange. Perhaps thats not what children want from games? It could be that they want to be entertained like tv and film rather than taxed. Reply+4
I don't think Dirt 3 is rubbish, but I really wasn't a fan of gymkhana. It felt like a version of the kudos system from PGR but with no freedom. Do this move here and only here, stop trying to do it over there you fool. Unfortunately it was built into every championship so it couldn't be avoided and ultimately it stopped me playing the game. Are there many rally stages in this game? And are they a decent length? I found Dirt 3 fairly lacking in this regard, considering the back of box promised the most proper rallying ever (!!) I found myself doing very little. I did do a lot of gymkhana though, that blew it for me. Reply+2
I can live without the 8 pixels at the top of the screen, thats just sky but the bottom 8!!?? Any fool knows thats where 90% of the action takes place - I'd rather lose 8 from the middle if given the choice. Reply+5
