@laimis911 The game was not 5 hours for me. I played on hard to start with and my final clocked time was 7-8 hours. That does not include any cut scene or retry time as the game doesn't clock it. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and feel it was very well paced with little to no padding. Some of the boss battles are also fantastic; Monsoon particularly.
The difference with increasing the difficulty in MGR is that unlike most games where developers will just give enemies more health or have them hit harder, in MGR it actually changes the enemy placement and groups you will face.
After completing the game on hard I decided to start again on very hard (something I rarely do). I was shocked to discover that all the enemy placements had changed and I was now facing enemies that didn't appear until halfway through my previous playthrough on hard. Reply0
@jabberwocky I had forgotten that Preacher had been rumoured to become a TV show at one point...that would have been fantastic and such a shame it will probably never get made.
Y is absolutely fantastic as well, first I have heard about a film...very interested. Reply+2
@jnewco81 While I would agree that DS games are the better games at the moment, I thoroughly enjoyed both. I think DD offered something different and new and offered a different feel with its focus on the Pawn system.
A DD sequel that addresses the firsts flaws would be very special game in my opinion. Reply0
@Nevflinn You just blew my mind...completed both Demons and Dark Souls with multiple characters with different styles of play and a couple of NG+'s etc. but never knew you could reduce grab damage by mashing L1 R1! Reply0
@CourseOfAction Me too...really should stop cooking when I play games ; P
One of my GOTY contenders, thought this was fantastic and loved every minute of it. The relationship between Clem and Lee is brilliantly done.
The only thing I hope for season 2 is that the choices you make have more impact to the overall story and can result in a different ending. Can't wait for it to be released anyway. Reply+4
This is a good idea but I would be interested to see the pricing.
When I lived in Japan I had the Joysound Karaoke game for Wii which had a similar system with even more tracks; around 30,000 I think (although admittedly the vast majority of these were Japanese tracks). That game charged by days rather than hour though; I think it was 24hr, 96hr, 1 week and a month. 24hrs was ¥300 (Just over £2 with todays rates). Reply0
Fantastic game and highly recommended to anyone to at least give the game a go; just a few things irked me, one being that you can only have one character save at a time and the second that starting a new game plus didn't increase enemy difficulty at all. You are basically one shot killing everything in your path if you start the game over.
It also seems to make raising your characters past a certain level pointless unless you are committed to fighting the U-Dragon...my character was around level 65 and I was dealing with chimera etc. in under a minute. This lack of increase in difficulty means that you have to delete your existing character and pawn and start again to have any challenge in the early levels...new game plus is pretty redundant. I would have preferred the base difficulty to increase like in Dark Souls. Reply0
Wow, I hadn't seen any trailers of this game until now...this does absolutely nothing for me and the acting is coming across pretty corny. The first was great, the second was good, I am guessing the third will be very average. Reply+3
For some reason I am getting a vibe that reminds me of movies like the remake of "The Hills Have Eyes" where the protagonist starts of weak and helpless but by the end is hunting down and getting revenge on the very people who have been hunting him.
With the fact that the game has XP progression, I hope the game starts with you being helpless but by the end, after unlocking numerous skills, you become a bad ass. The scene above where Lara shoots someone (for the first time?) sort of suggest that they are toughing her up bit by bit.
By the end game I can imagine you stalking enemies in the tree tops with bow and arrow and picking them off one by one. Reply+2

Looking at some more info online it looks like the designers have implemented the END step for this game.
This and manual tapping were some of the biggest bugbears I had with the game. If they fix the bugs and glitches and clean up the card text discrepancies I will be purchasing this. Reply-1
Goes someway to explain the lack of bug fixes. That is a ridiculous cost just to roll out a patch; it doesn't even include PSN, Apple charges etc.
As Stainless are a British company, I will note down some of my opinions here in the hopes that someone from the company reads them:
Hopefully all the bugs from the last 2 games have been solved in the forthcoming edition, as I probably won't purchase if this isn't the case. Cards like "Voice of All" have bugs that were present in both previous games and still aren't fixed. Then there are cards that don't interact correctly with one another (hexproof/pro-colour/shroud creatures being protected from sacrifice effects springs to mind) and incorrect application of card text i.e. "May..." in the DOTP game equals "Must...", Treefolk Harbinger doesn't shuffle the deck after using it...all of these unexpected issues spoil the game somewhat.
Also, the implementation of manual tapping is fantastic, however, what about END step being introduced? This is something that is really needed, instant speed spells lose a lot of their value if an opponent can interrupt your instant with a sorcery speed spell when they shouldn't be able to, or the opponent bait you to play your instant as you believe the opponent has finished their turn only for them to then play another creature afterwards. Both of these scenarios should not be possible but are currently, the introduction of the End Step would solve these issues.
It seems like I am bashing the game but really I just want it to meet its potential. I put many hours into the previous games and enjoyed them but have grown tired of poor implementation in certain areas noted above. DOTP 2013 and the DOTP franchise seems to be getting more exposure and becoming popular enough to make it it's own stand alone title rather than the introduction and bridge to the MTG card game or online component that Wizards hopes it is.
If the game is polished a little more it really has a chance to becoming a fantastic franchise. Fingers crossed. Reply+7
@Timotei
My thoughts exactly...if this ever comes to fruition I shall not be buying the next console. The only way I could see this being okay was if the games were free or ridiculously cheap and subsidised by the advertising...still wouldn't buy the console though. Reply+5
That's good then. Like I said, I like what I have seen and it is best that both copies run well as it increases the chances of it becoming a successful franchise.
My copy will hopefully be arriving tomorrow so I will see how it meets my expectations then. Reading the boards on gamefaqs I am really looking forward to it! Reply0
Yeah, the support has been non existant. Like I said, the main forum has a ridiculously long thread dedicated to the bugs in the game and none were fixed.
Apart from that though, the forum also has some fantastic ideas for UI changes, gameplay tweaks, deck builds etc. The people who post on the forum are pretty enthusiastic about trying to make the game better and come up with some fantastic ideas, if the developers listened they could truly make the game great. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a "major expansion" due next year
How have you continued so much? You must be able to one shot everything by now.
I absolutely loved the game and wanted to continue with my character but NG+ was a joke with my character and was no challenge whatsoever.
Here is hoping that they will also add in increased hp and damage for enemies on NG+.
I will definately be getting the DLC though. Reply -1
