  @lucky_jim some games do - Forza has reasonable tools for creating clips from replays and uploading them. However its very limited compared to having a box like this - you can only upload one clip at a time, it takes ages to actually create the clip within Forza at 720p (about 15 minutes for a 30 second clip) etc. A box like this reduces the time to create the raw footage to 30 seconds, and I end up with better control of the game camera.
