@Illusive_Man You are joking right. My initial point was not having a reason to buy a one and you highlight games that will only run the same as on the PS4 I already own. As for Sunset Overdrive its an unknown.

Dont give a shit about Skype, its not a game. i have a phone that can do that, I have a tablet that can do that. Care as much about twitch.

Smite is a good addition but I have it on PC and will only play it on that format, Planetside 2 is better than anything you have listed here and thats F2P on PS4 and PC. Diablo III is years old and again its better on PC and then you have exclusive content on the PS4.

You Sir are a plant! Who other than PR and marketers say fall lineup?

This is the only time I have no interest in the Xbox console. It lacks focus and doesnt know what it is. I questions the statement there are so many great AAA games coming this year!

Still not been given a reason to buy and Xbox one and this wont be it. Was mildly interested in DR3 and marginally interested in Ryse and now I will play both on my PC and a much lower price. I liked the Tomb Raider reboot but not enough to make me drop 300+ on a machine to play it especially with Drake around the corner.

I just dont understand Microsoft at the moment. There may well be a good console in there somewhere but I cant see it.

PC is the best format for gaming at the moment but I found a reason for my PS4 purchase, even found a reason for the Wii U I purchased but cannot find anything to justify the XBone.

    Am I missing something?

The Wii U is a solid machine that was pitched at the wrong price and has not had the software to shift it. What is there is pretty good. Cant wait to get this at the end of the month. Now make sure SSBM is good a get a Zelda game out and we might have something people would buy for sub 200. Reply +1

  • brazzauk 27/03/2014

Last of Us was my favorite game of this type but that was due to an amazing narrative. I find that all games are an extension of older game types so to say this isn't next gen in its gameplay doesnt really sit with me.

I am about 40% of the way through this game and i am really enjoying it. It looks amazing and plays well and the story is solid. Think 7 was too harsh, gaming is subjective though and I have always found the EG reviews of Infamous arent right for me.

I keep waiting for a reason to get the XBone but it just isnt there. I got this for 27 on PC and it a far better version.

Hard to justify the money. It really seems that spending 700 on the PC is a way better investment. It may be another 300 but the money you save on GMG or Steam will get that money back in a year!

I cant understand how MS got this so badly wrong after a really good unit in the 360.

i think at some stage I will get an XBOne But it wont be for a while. Most of the additional stuff is not stuff I want or need so the key for me is what console will give me the best experience on multi platform titles. Both have good exclusives i enjoy so its six of one on that front but it does appear that the extra grunt on the PS4 will make a difference on the cross platform stuff.

PS4 and PC for at least the next 6-9 months, then see where the XBOne is in terms of games and price.

Cancelled my pre order a while ago now and was worried that the launch reviews would drag me back in but that doesnt seem to be the case. Not interested in Forza so I can wait the week for my PS4.

Titanfall was the other main pull for me but judging how both next gen machines are running BF4 and CoD it will be the PC version of that for me.

Will still get an Xbone but not at anything over 400.

  • Killzone Shadow Fall review

  • brazzauk 14/11/2013

Even the reviews that give it around 7/10 all say how much fun the MP is. These games are reviewed as complete packages, single player and online together which is fair enough. For me though I haven't bothered with a single player campaign in a FPS for years, formula is tired.

I focus on the longevity of the multiplayer. I am loving BF4 online and that scored less than nearly all other Battlefields in the reviews because of a weak single player campaign. If BF went back to its roots and removed the single player would it have got more than an 8/10?

Maybe in the reviews we can split the scores add some weighting and then come up with an overall.

  • brazzauk 13/11/2013

Not overly fussed by the single player or the story, all FPS games are pretty much a rinse and repeat exercise these days. I loved the KZ2 and KZ3 multiplayer, made a nice change from the monotonous CoD games, which have all been dull since the great CoD 4.

With this and BF4 I think I have more than enough till Planetside 2 hits the PS4.

I really like it, playing it on PC and it looks and flows so much better than the 360 one I played.

I really think this sit well with the other 2 games and is a really worthy add on. Enjoying the story, voice acting is not as bad as people make out. As for it being more of the same, what did people really expect. The devs played it safe and have been slammed for that. The would have been slammed more if they had changed it up. Truly no win for them on this one. Its the third game in a series so its harder to feel fresh but keep the core mechanic.

Still this this is a very solid 8.

  • Has EA Sports broken FIFA 14 by trying to fix it?

  • brazzauk 16/10/2013

@jnewco81 Yep, as I said earlier the defenders are dumb as bricks in 14. Dont track runners, stop in mid chase of defenders, don't take up position in the box for crosses. EA struggling with the balance the last few year, either attack biased or defence biased.

Maybe they have shortcut the current gen this year and gimped them to make the New gen stuff more desirable.

  • brazzauk 16/10/2013

Although use of pace and the through ball is nothing new this year its an absolute joke. Playing on the already patched PC and it has done nothing to stop this. Dicks are still hitting through balls from the back and tearing though.

The actual issue is not the through ball but the dumb as shit defenders who cant seem to track a runner. Online it is really ruining the game. I try to play and no matter the formation on tactic online this is a joke.

  • Disney Infinity review

  • brazzauk 23/08/2013

Gonna buck the trend here and say I quite like Infinity. Arrived this week and so far I feel it's a pretty good package but only if disney is your thing. Really liked Toy Story 3 and the sand box aspect of that and this has grown on that. Of course there is a money making aspect to it which could have been toned down but again it's consumer choice, don't like it then don't buy it.

Monsters U and Pirates are good, incredibles is solid but not the best. Cars and the Lone Ranger are really very good. Took my son 8 hours to play through monsters u and that was without collecting everything.

For me the game is a high 7 / low 8 but each to their own. Very easy to dismiss a game like this when its not made for you.

  • brazzauk 12/06/2013

@Ricky_Gabriel_Bird I understand the position but look at Ryse, all the functionality is there without the kinnect. The issue here is you MUST have the Kinnect connected for the machine to even work. Why? Forcing developers into adding it into games is dodgy for me. it will be added in to most games for the sake of it.

The idea of a mandatory peripheral is a joke in my opinion. Beyond a pad all other should be optional. Its crazy to think that if my Kinnect 2.0 is faulty I cant play anything.
    Reply +3
  • brazzauk 12/06/2013

@Electric_Bones Dont want a Kinnect. They are pointless. They are making people buy it rather than making it an option.

As for the list, only really sold on DR3 of the exclusives. Killzone is as interesting to me as Titan Fall but it looks okay.

  • brazzauk 12/06/2013

Calling the Wii U a next gen machine is a bit of a joke. It was clear that opting to stay on the current gen with the PS4 and Xbone about to be announced was a massive error and with a 300 price point!! The PS4 has highlighted what a rip off this was.

Get it down to 149 for the bundle and it may survive on the first party titles alone.

  • brazzauk 23/05/2013

People talk about Steam on this but this is a digital service and I usually get most stuff on that for about a fiver. They will compound the nonsense of this new generation so far by upping the price of the software to 60. Increase the price then limit how I use it? Theses games will be glorified PC game that are already graphically superior but are on sale for 30.

I was keen on the Xbox but this is really making me think about the Xbox One. In my household we share games around on the couple of 360's we have. I am not going interested in buying games twice so my boy an play it, even a nominal fee for him on his machine is a bridge too far I think.

Sony have a real oppotunity to steal in here and appeal to the informed gamer crowd. It appears to have the power advantage, if they get the network right this time and avoid this DRM bullshit we might have a clear winner this time.
