What you're describing is The Orange Box Collection on PS3.

Yet they were still amazing games. 😁

Amazing campaign on the hardest difficulty levels. My only issue is I wanted more.

Multiplayer was fun for two minutes until the spawn campers turned up and turned me off.

I'd like to say it's highly underrated but it's smashing it in review score so why isn't it selling?

    No, TF2 doesn't have HDR.

Tried R&C and UC4 and the difference is palpable on regular PS4 so can't wait to throw higher rendering res in the mix too.

Cheers for the info. Mines arrived and am just a having a quick at Titanfall 2 before I start my 3hr transfer ordeal.

It may not be 4K but damn it's looks sweet on my 58DX902. Certainly a noticeable upgrade on 1000p.

I wonder why it doesn't implement HDR?

I got stung with the GTDF gathering dust under my desk, so I'm out of that game for while.

Having said that, the wheel I'm interested in is the new GT wheel but I can't even think about that with a Pro on order and Christmas round the corner.

Back to DCVR, as I've said before, the sense of immersion was complete despite the visual compromises and after that first lap I was hooked.

I loved PSVR and despite being given the all clear by the CEO, I can't justify the expense. Maybe next year with a more rounded library and with a better sense of the support going forward, I'll bite the bullet.

I'm just glad there's a lot of positivity around most users experiences and l hope it's successful. People are always going on about next-gen gameplay, VR could be the key.

I wonder if the issue with DriveClubVR is that your playing with a pad rather than wheel.

At the demo last week they only had it with the full seat, wheel and pedal set and I found that gripping the wheel and resting against the pedals 'grounds' you in the cockpit, so there's always a physical connection to what your seeing.

The issue with nausea seems to result because of that lack of connection. I would have played for hours if they'd let me with no ill feeling at all. This is the reason I was leaving the Battlezone and Eve demos till last. I didn't want to start my first experience feeling rough.

As with many things you get what you're prepared to pay for.

With only one major OLED manufacturer, LG, prices may not fall for a while. For actual HDR on an LCD you need a full array dimming backlight to isolate the peek highlights.

    Everything else is a compromise.

  • belziah 08/10/2016

Just tried PSVR in Sheffield and I've got to say I'm quite impressed. The graphical comprises are obvious but the immersion was complete.

I tried London Heist first and laughed my arse off. I genuinely thought I was gonna fall out of the van when I lent out of the door. DriveClub is where the compromise showed most, lots of aliaising, but once the race started, all issues evaporated and I could have spent many hours lost on track.

Be The Batman was a fun experience but very little depth, at least for the dressing up part that I played. I good introduction to VR I think.

The headset itself felt like wearing a baseball cap in that I forgot about it once in game.

Overall, a very positive first experience for me but I still ain't parting with the cash just yet. Experiences are great but I like to play games and the lineup currently doesn't justify a purchase.

Glad I've actually tried it though. With enough support it VR will be game changer.

How could I have guessed, the infamous anonymous source!

Now point me to another source.

The reason I ask is that, that is the ONLY source for this story and yet PSVR has been demo'd for the past two years on standard PS4's for two years with no complaints.

Every person I ask about this points to exactly the same article and ignores the fact that it's been playable for years.

I don't know what you expect from PSVR but it ain't never gonna be the PC experience and the Neo ain't gonna make it the PC experience.

I agree it could and I think it will do more. The message will evolve over time as others have mentioned.

But for the next 18 months he wants to sell S's and he wants those S buyers to be reassured that they're not buying into a short term deal. I think that's today's message.

And here's the weird thing, when the message does evolve down the line, after Scorpio's launch, I think it'll be seen in a positive light.

Sorry, let me be clear. In terms of the fact that there are currently only two UHD players on the market both more expensive and heavily under supplied.

Most of the AV enthusiast sites I visit are all over this news. The early adopters are desperate for a decent reasonably priced machine to feed their new screens and Microsoft have just put one out in the field. Non gamers for sure but 'new' consumers none the less. Remember how many ps2s were bought as DVD players.

As I said in the other thread, my mind is blown that MS will release a consumer UHD player before Sony. Just think on that.

As for the console games market as a whole, I don't think it's going to change the direction of this gen.

The S will be the cheapest UHD player by close to 100 when it comes out in August. I believe that's how long Sony have got to get their message straight about Neo.

Xbox has just been opened up to a new market that I think Sony were trying to tap with Neo and they may have just cut Sony off at the knees.

    From the Microsoft Xbox site

    4k Ultra HD
With four times the resolution of standard HD 4k Ultra HD delivers the clearest, most realistic video possible. Stream 4k content on Netflix and Amazon Instant Video and watch Ultra HD Blu-rayTM movies in stunning visual fidelity with High Dynamic Range.

Lol. That actually puts the heat on Sony. It'll be the cheapest UHD player on the market. AV enthusiasts will Jump In hard🤓

I've got to say I think MS and Sony both had the conferences they needed to have.

Sony needed to do no more than show games and let's not mess about here, that's what they did. MS needed to stop apologising and move on and hardware wise that's precisely what they did.

Scorpio is a true next-gen machine that sounds like the mutts at first glance but once again, just like Neo, assumptions are being made. For example, Phil was very clear 'No one gets left behind, all your Xbox One games and chattels will be useable on all machines!', however we have people on here claiming that Scorpio games will work on the One, which could plausibly happen but certainly has not been announced.

I wonder what, if any effect its announcement will have on sales on both sides. I personally don't think it'll have any, as 18 months is a long time to hang out for a piece of hardware but stranger things have happened.

As for the games, there was nothing on either side that gave me the feeling that a mass exodus to the competition is about to happen. Story driven for most of the Sony stuff, shooty-bang-bang for MS(massive simplification I know, but you get my drift), both sides playing to their strengths.

I don't care about VR, I'd go so far as to assume most gamers couldn't give a shit about VR, especially in its current state that consists of 'experiences' but, I find it interesting that apparently it's the new hip thing to claim confusion about whether Sony are showing Neo footage or not. Andrew House was quite clear that they weren't, you told us that over the weekend. And despite the fact that they've been demo-ing PSVR for a couple of years now, all of a sudden it doesn't work?

If you're really concerned, other than attempting to create a meme, as a journalist, surely you ask the question to the people with answers rather than 'create' additional confusion.

Either way, Zelda will be game of the conference without Nintendo even really trying.

TLDR: too much time on my hands

EDIT: New story on front page says no Scopio exclusives. Fair enough
