I've I had an xbox this generation. I watched the start of the live feed but it died after fifteen minutes. I didn't bother tuning back in. I don't want to hear about how I'm going to be able to watch TV in new and innovative ways (then again, I evidently have a short attention span so maybe I'm their target market). Reply+8
@jetsetwillie Who knows: maybe in the DLC you'll get to save the glassy-eyed children of Columbia from spinning around in circles giggling endlessly and playing rock paper scissors until the end of time. That'll make everything better. Reply0
Any information at all on the DLC would be nice at this point. I enjoyed the main game so much that I purchased the Season Pass as soon as I finished it (yes, I realise that's completely irrational and I'm part of the problem). Any info on setting, characters, release dates would be very welcome. Reply+2
@Bluetooth Bethesda included the DLC for the complete versions of Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas on a second disc, so fingers crossed that'll be the case here. Reply+3
@Bluetooth That's assuming it's all included on the disc. A recent trend with Game of the Year/Complete editions has been to simply bundle in a load of download codes for the DLC. Reply+5
I love id as much as the next person, but I'll be disappointed if they're relegated to pushing out rehashes of past glories for the rest of eternity. It's a shame Rage didn't perform better - while far from perfect, it was a fun journey and a good statement of what a modern id game could be. Reply+6
I cannot remember the last time I saw a trailer where the developer had the nerve to show the player dying within two minutes of starting, yet it makes perfect sense becausethis is so integral to the Souls games. Absolutely brilliant. I can't wait. Reply+14
I only ever played the demo of the Neverhood off a Windows 95 demo CD, but it looked stunning at the time and had the catchiest music I've ever heard in a video game. Reply0
There's clearly a difference between 'backwards compatible' - being able to play current gen games - and cross-generational multiplayer. I couldn't give two hoots about the latter, but given the library of games I've built up the former is a deal-breaker for me. Reply+89
I often forget how incredible Fallout 3 was. The combat was a little iffy but what a fantastic world. Hard to imagine they'll ever be able to recreate the first moment you step out of the vault but can't wait to see what they do next.
And my goodness, that Dead Space 3 demo looked tedious. When they approached the oh-so-conveniently placed ammo crates in the ice cave I thought "I bet something will jump out here" - lo and behold! By the time the fourth wave of military-based necromorphs turned up at the drill section I'd lost all faith. In terms of jump-based scares and psychological horror I fear this franchise has already played its best cards. I have zero interest in another action game that simply has me fighting hordes of zombies and customising weapons (plus everyone knows the plasma cutter is all you need). Reply+7
@tomjdavies I'm sure there'll be some inertia for the first year or so. But it'll be interesting to see how well the 'current gen' is supported post-2013, given how long it's lasted. You have to wonder if developers will continue to cater to those old dusty boxes, or shift to the new shiny things in their droves. Reply0
@tomjdavies Unfortunately that's very unlikely. Microsoft and Sony will need compelling reasons for people to shell out for a new console. The fact that all of your online buddies have deserted you and upgraded to a new system will be one of them. Reply+8
The Ghostbusters game was pretty well-made and respected the source material, even though the game itself was fairly generic. I wish them all the best with Walking Dead. Unfortunately there'll be inevitable comparisons with Telltale's treatment, and I sense their job (at least in terms of the PR for this game) has become ten times harder. Reply+6
"343 Industries is currently working on Halo 4 DLC and, beyond that, a next-generation Xbox Halo game."
That's funny: are they actually explicit about working on a 'next-gen' game (even though the 'next gen' Xbox hasn't been officially announced yet?). I thought developers' policy was to remain opaque and mysterious until E3's out of the way. Reply+1
Skyrim in the top 10 still/again? That's quite impressive, though I wonder how many sales are supporting that. You often hear that outside of the top 10 the number of sales needed to 'chart' drops off quite dramatically. Are data on volumes published anywhere or are they kept for industry insiders? Would be interesting to see. Reply+10
