@ofthemountain I've done it. Had a 360 for 5 years, loved it but ever since the last shitty dash update and the dashboard ads, and the fact you cant watch iplayer of Netflix without gold when it came to renew my gold, I sold the lot and bought a PS3. Couldn't be happier feels like a gaming machine again. And the Netflix and iplayer apps are miles ahead of 360. Looking at the roadmap looks like I'll be staying in Sony's camp for next gen. Fuck Microsoft. Reply+8
Been a XBOX live gold user for 5 years, this last month I didn't renew, sold my 360 and defected to PS3. Couldn't be happier! It feels like I've returned to a gaming console. Reply+5
I hated it. Loved Deus Ex but this game is too similar; too stuck in the past for my liking. Dull lifeless levels. ludicrous back and forth among quest givers, (no mobiles lol) dull story, shit characters, lame NPC dialog (all exposition), crappy AI, and shit gunplay (What I can't put iron sights on LT?). I could go on. Reply-8
Playing devils advocate, in a way FIFA fans that religiously buy the game every year are effectively paying a £40 pound sub. Say EA put out a FIFA subscription for £2 a month, giving you access to all new games and content. Would that be so bad? Reply+2
If anything, this is shaping up to be a prime example of how to do a remake/rerelease properly.
It's a prime example of how to do a fighting game full stop! The features are fantastic and should become the gold standard by what all others should be judged in my opinion. Reply0
I'm excited even though I've never played any DOTA or its offshoots, as anything with a Valve logo makes me horny. Curious to see what this game will be like.
As for HL3, I'll be happy for it to be a next gen launch title. We have waited this long, what's a few more years? HL 2 was a generational jump in technology, so I'm expecting HL3 to be too. Reply-1
It's amusing that now the lions share of the talent at Infinity Ward has left to form Respawn, the old community manager has now been given a sexy new title "creative strategist" (whatever that means). Must have been part of his reward from Cacktivision of his loyalty.
As ronuds says people will always camp, and most of the time it is a poor strategy as you become a sitting duck. Reading above I don't think Bowling has any idea what he's going on about. Blaming map design on campers, please. There was nothing wrong with MW2 maps imo. Reply+4
Surprise no one is applauding them for announcing the game with only 2 months to go. Wish a lot of other companies would do that. So sick of the standard teaser marketing strategies of announcing games a year to two years in advance. Even if the game sucks, congrats to FWH for some refreshing behaviour. Reply+2
For XBL, 1200 points is approx 8.50 if you get your points at the sensible price (£14.99 for 2100). So five new maps for that is fine imo. Sure beats the crappy MW2 map packs of 4 maps, two of which were old ones. Reply+1
@spacedelete: Exactly what I was thinking, brink + bulletstorm but with none of the innovation that those games brought to the fps table. Take a lot more than wavy-arm ragdolls and some destructable walls to get me excited. Like the look of the hi-tech levels though. Reply+1
@swills: Always annoys me when Eurogamer cannibalises their own interviews and puts up each piece as "news", before they actually post up the interview itself. But hey that's website business for you: it's all about the clicks. Reply0
Love SSFIV and glad to have Makoto finally more fun to play, but even I think that 1200 points is too much. I'm saving mine for 3S and waiting for a sale on this. Reply+1
That engine does look awful, shame as I think if this flops you can say bye bye to Silicon Knights. Fingers crossed that it's a success as I would love a new Eternal Darkness, or even a HD remake of the original. Reply0

Valve: DOTA 2 coming "soon" to Steam

MW3 multiplayer inspired by COD4
