Although I already contributed with 15$, am I the only one worried by how it looks? They are selling it as a new 2D adventure, but it looks nothing like the awesome 2D animations from the 1st and 2nd games... Reply+2
@ZuluHero but I wonder how useful it is if you're doing more than gaming. I normally have Skype, Steam and probably the browser running on the background while I play. Reply0
@MattEvansC3 again, I feel you miss the point of the thing: developing for a fixed hardware that has a proper context (living room) is very different from creating code that can run on a hundred different Android phones, which in turn *might* be connected to a TV and a controller.
Regarding you concerns with manufacturing costs, they are surely valid. But remember, Kickstarter is to get funding, not to sell things. They are getting the funding, even if they miss the 99$ mark for the dam thing. Reply0
@MattEvansC3 but it's their money to give... you say people shouldn't donate because they have no business knowledge, but then the argument for not donating is also lacking by not understanding the console's purpose.
- It's not a phone connected to the TV (mentioning Android just made a lot of people miss the point).
- The discussion about piracy is valid across all consoles/phones... Making it hackable just sounds more appealing for me (hoping I code one or two games for it). I think people tend to contribute more to indie games even when they can easily pirate then (the Humble Indie Bundle being just one example) Reply0
I really don't understand all the hate towards OUYA... Despite the challenge, their goal is a clear one: make the development of games for the living room as accessible as it is now to develop for the mobile market.
