As long as you take into account the requirement for a company like EA to actually make a return to its shareholders, I think it's difficult not to be impressed by their output the last 2-3 years.
Positives have been Mirror's Edge, Dead Space and Mass Effect along with their successful move to iOS. Negatives have been the obvious holding back of content for DLC (although I don't actually think there is anything fundamentally wrong with this) and the creation of online passes.
Overall, I'd say they are the strongest publisher in recent years for the traditional gamer. Reply+2
I'm assuming this just means they tried to get a lower age rating than Apple were willing to grant, rather than Apple rejecting the whole game regardless of rating? Reply+9
"This price tag, especially in comparison to the US price tag, just makes me think they are trying to make as much money back on the 3DS as quickly as possible, fuck off with your money, stop selling the 3DS, and then tell you that you must buy the 3DS ver 2."

High prices are the norm for new tech and who ever said that you "must" buy any iterative upgrades of consoles? Reply+2
The fact is, if we ever did reach a digital-only retail model on console there would be competition inquiries all over the world. Both the US and EU would crack down on all three manufacturers if they ran closed shops.
In the back of my mind I'm wondering whether this is behind Sony's decision to start merging Steam onto the PSN giving them an argument against any future intervention.
Of course I have no expertise in this area, so could be completely wrong. Reply+8
Aha, you mean the kind of advice that takes no account of cost, and would cripple most companies that followed it.
I think Sony would like to make a return on the PSPhone rather than just piss money up the wall hoping the product sells better than any other phone in history. Reply0
This seems highly unlikely. A man that's shown no interest in games until the last year, went crazy 10 years ago over the buyout of a only moderately (at the time) successful developer?
I imagine the iPhone aerial issues sent him loopy, but not this. Reply+2
