Really enjoying Infinight although now it's popped into my head I can't listen to the breathy vocal effects without thinking of The Wurzels singing 'I am a Cider Drinker'
The amount of paper packed into that box is criminal. Even ignoring the horrible waste, you'd think any company would want to keep the weight down on unit shipping.
I remember when I was a youngster, father would make us stand around the monitor and sing the national anthem when the WoW servers were turned off at midnight.
I've found with Battleheart it helps to maintain a cross formation. Healer top middle, ranged magic damage bottom and then two melee dudes forming the right and left of the cross - they maintain aggro on mobs coming in from the sides.
Still takes a bit of jiggling about but if you focus on returning the party members to this formation after each wave, it's much more enjoyable. For me anyway. Reply0
I have 20/20 vision so not sure what an optician could have done for me after keeling over into a DVD display after my first 3D film at an HMV Curzon. Was hours before I was right in the head. There was a time I only had to put with a twice-yearly migraine.
3D can either be better implemented or die as far as I'm concerned - I'd like to still be able to play games or watch telly in 5 years time if that's OK with the industry. Reply0
This is the thing with these re-branding excercises. If it passes by without mention it's a seamless transition for the company. If it's mocked and villified, the designers can say "A-ha! But you see - people are engaging with your brand, therefore it's a triumphant success"
There is just no way of winning the argument with these people, it's maddening. Reply+5
Indeed Rev Stu. As a gamer, I understand the knee-jerk reaction to any criticism directed at my hobby from entities who have historically shown themselves to be ignorant buffoons, incapable of analysing the topic with any impartiality.
At the same time, I don't think we do the situation any favours by blindly rushing to gaming's defence because of that.
Books end, MMOs don't. It's almost a principle mechanic that underlies the compulsion to keep playing and try and reach the end regardless.
Yep and.......wait for it.....we have Eurogamer corps for the PVE side and an 0.0 Alliance type corp. We're a big happy family though and you can dip in between the two.
Compared to the $500million spent on Kinect, this is the kind of PR boost for the loyal crowd that money can't buy.
Just imagine it - first EA, then Microsoft. I don't even want to think of the circumstances surrounding Activision becoming the heroes of the day in the future. Reply+1
