SOTC will forever be lodged in my memory not so much because of its enchanting landscape or inventive gameplay, but because I had to stop playing. I wasn't bored, but something about the simple plot really got to me. I was killing these innocent, ancient creatures just to try and selfishly bring back one life, and I reached the point where I couldn't do it anymore.
Now that really surprised me. I'd been playing games for a long time and had mown my way through hordes of npcs, innocent and alike, but here I was disgusted with the actions of my character and didn't want to take them any further. The first and only game which has had me react in such a strong manner. Reply+22
You'd think returning to this lucrative franchise would've been an obvious move for THQ given their financial troubles. Slightly amazed it took them this long to realise it. Reply+15
Dissapointed that nobody has mentioned the 'Hector' series of games on the iphone and ipad, I'm on the second atm and finding it hilarious in parts. Reply+5
Sad to say I only ever thought it was ok. The production values were fantastic and I loved the idea of a film-noir with skeletons but, I dunno, the script seemed too self-involved and focussed on trying to be clever rather than funny to me.
Recognise I am very much in the minority on this, though! Reply-1
I can't see 'plan and execute' being half as immersive and tense as JA2's turn-based system. Wish they'd had the courage to stick with what works for the series. Reply+2
It ends just after you have a chat to the narrator in person, at some kind of hub where you can create buildings. I appreciate that the demo may not showcase the game best but really it's all I have to go on without buying on the off chance!

Tried the demo and was bored before the end. It certainly looks lovely, and the narrator is a nice touch, but it's telling that this eurogamer analysis says next to nothing about the actual gameplay. Reply+6
You'd think Nintendo might be able to absorb a failure or two due to the insane cash reserve they must've built up with the Wii. Then again, my knowledge of economics is somewhat limited. Reply+10
I'm concerned that Obsidian are going the same way as the FO3 DLCs and raising the level cap in each one, with an ultimate goal of level 50 by the end of Lonesome Road. This didn't work well when we got to Point Lookout, with unarmoured tribals able to weather nine shotgun blasts to the face.
True, there's a promised perk in Old World Blues which locks your level but that'll solve the symptom, not the problem, and just make things insanely difficult as Obsidian continue to ramp up the enemies HP for their target audience of people who are gobbling up the extra levels. Reply+3
Didn't Valve say that MS wouldn't allow them to put free content up on XBL? Is it one rule for full retail games and another for arcade releases? Reply+1
I feared this would fit right in with the tide of 'amazing hardware!', 'revolutionary', and 'fills my head with possibilities!', then when it actually comes to the developers making good on their enthusiasm we end up with shovelware shite.
To his credit though Greg Zeschuk is actually pretty reserved, bit of a relief.
