It's a 10 for me, but the game clearly isn't for everyone. As I mentioned once before (on the forums), I don't have a problem with that. Reply 0

The horse is called Argo. That said, I think Agro sounds much better...

You'll be glad to know that he is called Agro then :)

edit: I think the confusion might've come about due to the wanderer's pronunciation of that name.

Daryoon: Yeah, I was aware of that ;) Also, I didn't mean for my post to sound so arrogant. I just thought it was worth posting (it didn't seem likely to be made up and I for one would be glad of any slightest hint that Lance Bass doesn't get the role). Reply 0
  • Firewine 08/02/2006

I hope Lance Bass is Sephiroth again

According to IMDB, Paul Dobson is playing Sephiroth (he also voiced Folken in Escaflowne if that means anything).

Techincally speaking, it was a co-publishing deal between the two parties.

Aye, maybe so. The point is, without Nintendo's influence, Namco probably wouldn't have bothered with them.

"Namco (or Namco Bandai) Europe publishing an RPG?"

There have been 3 of them since November last year:

    Xenosaga 2

    Tales of Symphonia

    Baten Kaitos

Nintendo published those two in Europe iirc.

Something is really screwed with me as I'm considering buying them again. Even though I have both Ico (paper pal) and Sotc (canadian ntsc).

You're not the only one ;)

The case is falling apart on my ltd Ico and my copy of SotC arrived in an disappointing state, so that's my incentive... Well, that and "supporting UK sales" :)

I also like role-playing Fire Emblem in real life - one time I even prepared speech bubbles to hold up in front of me while I hummed the theme tune. I don't live with Kristan any more.

    :D :/

FE:PoR for me but I don't know whether to import it instead (as I did with the GBA ones). Are the connectivity features anything special?

    EDIT:

Did no one here buy it then? :(

Also, if there aren't any connectivity features, feel free to clear that up.

the shite AI really killed it for me.

I guess that's fair enough. In fact, contrary to what some reviews have said, I've found it fairly easy to run & gun (it seems they're not so bad at spotting you though, I prefer guerrilla tactics but things tend to go awry quickly for me :/ ).

The frame rate is shoddy too, always chugging and skipping.

I haven't been getting that either tbh, but I have had such problems on other Xbox titles, like in KUF Heroes (which I mentioned elsewhere).

and the load times are anything up to 5 minutes (seriously)

Regarding KUF Heroes: Nice to see they bothered to keep the Korean voice option this time :)

@driptray: It's a lot of fun imo, as long as you don't mind the predominantly hack & slash nature.

My only real concern is a persistent stutter to the framerate. There's no pal60 mode but enabling the option wouldn't cause it to stutter, would it? I don't think HD access is to blame...

"anyone who buys this or any other console at release is a flaming idiot,"

I used to think like that. What now strikes me as dumb is waiting a year for the price to go down... maybe. First and foremost, all I want is a machine that'll run Oblivion well.

"you should atleast wait until rivals release their console and THEN buy one on release. It makes sense."

    That doesn't make sense.

Sounds good enough for me tbh (also played the demo, like it), I shall definitely be getting it... after we find out who won the compo ;)

Also, granted the graphics aren't exactly cutting edge but I think the game's visuals are nice enough.

I'm a bit concerned about the low framerates I've been getting though (as with DS1, in fact).

That sounds about right.. I haven't gotten so far but I have experienced the VO problems and one lockup (possibly incurred by skipping dialogue). Initially I thought it was only my copy that was glitching, the disc was scratched to f*ck when it arrived 'cause it wasn't seated in the box ~>:(

It's hard to imagine that Koei won't address these issues though, so I think I will just wait for the PAL version instead.
