  • Xbox One X UK launch sales match Nintendo Switch, beat PlayStation 4 Pro

  • Edz72 14/11/2017

Well unfortunately the ray of sunshine that was the X has dissipated, and now all I want to do is put a 🔨 through it 🤬 How MS a renowned software company canít do the simple things right it beyond me. I have switched back to my Pro which is like a breath of fresh compared the dog shit front end of the Xbox.
I have well over 100 games on my Pro (2tb) and 7 on the X which is already half full. So now Iím looking at 15-20 games before the HDD is full - this is not good enough.. and I wonít even mention install times and patches because the 🔨 will come out 🤯

  • How does Call of Duty: WW2 look on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro?

  • Edz72 12/11/2017

@super_monty easy answer is no save your money, but I would whole heartedly disagree with the leap from the ps3/360 was a lot bigger than from the ps4/one to these mid gen refreshes. Same games just a new lick of paint. Take quantum break as an example, the animations are pretty poor and the hair looks like plastic wigs and 1440p/4K is not going to change that. Game is fun in places but it definitely feels like an old game when your playing it. Reply -4
  • Edz72 12/11/2017

@telboy007 I totally understand its just a bit disappointing tbh. At the moment the X only has a higher resolution over the pro in most multi platform games which was expected. Hopefully this will change in future if not it becomes a very questionable purchase.
I brought 4 games and the only one I am impressed with is Forza Horizon 3. 😕

  • Wolfenstein 2: the biggest jump yet from PS4 Pro to Xbox One X?

  • Edz72 12/11/2017

@VanillaLake thanks for your help but maybe I have a bug with my console as the shut down didnít work and I tied with both doom and horizon and it still queued when I changed disks so now Iím back to starring at the dashboard waiting for it to download. I have to say Iím pretty disappointed with this setup 🤬 Reply 0
  • Edz72 12/11/2017

@VanillaLake as mentioned above how do I download a game in the background whilst playing a game? I really donít want to sit here starring at the dashboard whilst it downloads especially when they are this large. Cheers Reply 0
  • Edz72 12/11/2017

@Dizzy nope it was a single player game (mafia 3). Also it seems to only download one patch at a time, is there anyway to download more than one at a time?
I can only assume that I have this setup incorrectly because Iím the only person thatís raising this issue?

Right this getting to be a bit of a joke now. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to speed these installs up, I was playing a game thinking that a patch from another game would download in the back round whilst Iím playing but when I went back to the desktop it had queued the patch download ☹️ So now Iíve got to sit here at the desktop waiting for the patch to download. I must be missing something? Reply -4
  • Edz72 12/11/2017

@duff_uk for me and a lot of primary ps4 users I would say the difference being is that I will stick with the pro for multiplayer gaming as itís where all my friends are. Also the difference between the two consoles is visuals only where as last gen the ps3 performed worse as well as looked worse than the 360. Reply -4
  • Edz72 12/11/2017

Well out of the 3 games I have managed to actually play after having the console half a day now I can honestly say the following. Horizon 3 is great, quantum break is average and doom is somewhere in between. The hardware is great, the ui and game installs are poor.
Itís a mix bag all round (as expected). Overall as a pro owner I can say that both have pros and cons and both lack refinement in different areas.

  • Edz72 11/11/2017

1080p is the least of the ui issues, itís complete garbage, lays of adverts, everything under multiple layers. I assume this is the latest update to the ui, well if this is an improvement I canít even imagine how shit it was before. Thereís literally pages of nothing but adverts and random info on pointless crap. Reply -15
  • Edz72 11/11/2017

Ah ok I assume thatís something I can choose in the settings? It is installing both at the same time but itís painfully slow. Unfortunately with games being 50gb and then these huge updates itís time to look into speeding the process up and on the Xbox itís got to be priority a.s.a.p Reply -1

@Dizzy they are with mine. Reply -3
  • Edz72 11/11/2017

@Edz72 nearly 6 hours later and Iíve still only played one game 🙁 I canít even download more than one update, canít even remove the disk because the install is taking as long as the updates. This is fucking backwards, I am loosing the will to give a crap anymore.
Number 1 priority for next generation is to speed things up because this is not ideal.

Well as a PS4 Pro owner from launch I picked up a x today and all I can say is Iím disappointed. Not with the hardware or the power but the ui is utter garbage and game installs/updates are a joke. Picked up the console 4 hours ago and have managed to play one game (doom). Now waiting for quantum break to download/install and itís got a 77gb update to download, and itís far to slow to transfer the data from the disk.
As itís been mentioned the noise level compared to the pro is identical although the build quality of the x is better imo

@NYGiants4Natic of course Iím a retard, but only a moron would refer to a console as a beast.
Of course letís not forget that itís also uncompromisef, wasnít that the remit from ms on this beast as you call it.... itís a console at the end of the day, not a beast and definitely will have compromises like every console

This will get patched no doubt, but I have to say itís hardly suprissing tbh. Itís the same old Microsoft hyping the crap of their products to the point that any issues, cut backs, missing features leave a bitter taste. Just like the original Kinect and Xbox one, do they learn nothing? Reply -2

  • Edz72 28/02/2017

Great idea if it gave you access to all games, but for me the reality is if I wanted to play a game i would have brought it near release. I have no interest in play old shit games. My time is worth too much to me.

Much like Netflix which I still pay monthly but the difference being is access to original new content that I can't get anywhere else. Maybe MS should have exclusive games on this like crackdown and sea of theives then it would be far more appealing.

  • Jelly Deals: Nintendo Switch pre-orders back 'in stock' from Nintendo itself

  • Edz72 06/02/2017

Personally I think the switch looks like good value at £280 and although the launch lineup isn't top notch having zelda on day one is something special, but all that aside this is the first console generation where I feel content with what I have (ps4 pro) and see no reason to own a second console. Don't want or need a second online sub and at the moment I can't realistically keep up with all the games I already want this year on the console I already own. Reply +1

  • The race for 4K: how Project Scorpio targets ultra HD gaming

  • Edz72 27/01/2017

At this point in time it is looking very much that the Scorpio will end up being a more powerful ps4 pro. If that is the case then that will be extremely disappointing, not that there is anything wrong with the ps4 pro but it means the benefits for 1080p tv owners will be minimal at best outside exclusives which as we know if not ms strength at the moment :-/ Reply -1

@SwissTony1994 Jesus ... You really up Sony's arse aren't you?

So you honestly think that MS have low morals? Lower than Sony's? don't give me that shit.

Oh and where do you work out the Microsoft haven't bought anything positive to the games industry. They are the ones that pushed Sony to be better, and likewise Sony are pushing Microsoft to be better as well ...

So you think Microsoft leaving the market would be the best for the industry do you ... Then your a fucking idiot ...

What the hell are you prattling on about, just because I despise MS and what they done (nothing btw) for gaming does not mean I think Sony are saints...
And yes I would be very happy if they left the gaming industry, more than happy if they were replaced by a company who gave a crap about it's consumers. I don't actually think we could do any worse (with the exception of Apple).

@jabberwoky Still hard to forgive MS for trying to get rid of used games. Still they have had the kicking they deserved and I hope they survive and learn rather than get thrown out of the market.

Personally the sooner MS do get out of the market the better, hopefully replaced by a company that has a lot higher morals. MS have brought absolutely nothing positive to gaming whatsoever, and that is clear to see reading XbDf's posts..

@mega-gazz That is exactly my point. So suddenly they are going to see the big hitters advertised by Sony and think oh that's now the machine to play those games I will grab one of them. This is a complete role reversal from last gen. It will now be interesting if MS can keep the momentum going with exclusives year on year like Sony did with the PS3. Reply +1
  • Edz72 30/07/2015

@mega-gazz Your wrong, Sony has MGS5, Battlefront, COD3 & AC because to the average gamer they will see the adverts promoting those games on the PS4 and won't notice or care that you can get them on another system. The hardcore gamers are the only ones that take notice and they have already made their choice, and if they wanted both they would have bought them last year... Reply +2

Nothing against the Xbox one per se just despise the company and their money grabbing morals. Typical large brash American company determined to monopolise and drive gaming into the ground once it's rinsed dry.

@ziggy_played_guitar No the 360 was the Chav console because it was associated primarily shooters, where as the PS3 had a much more broad range of Eastern & Western games. This gen looks no different in fact possibly worse as imo the 360's best and most interesting game Alan Wake has been scraped for a generic looking 3rd person shooter?

  • Edz72 13/04/2015

    @Uncompetative

Not bothered about the lack of drive as I already have a PS3/PS4 for Blu-ray. 1TB is no where near large enough though. Kinect should have stayed imo, it's a better console with it than without. Wouldn't buy one regardless because I don't rate their exclusives and unlike last generation they don't have the better performing multiplatform games which leaves me very little reason to be interested in one regardless of price.

If MS want their console to be market leader then start by making Xbox live free. No point reducing the cost of the box when you only end up spending more to use the thing.
