RSX901 wrote:@7M7 Exactly why Sony took the gamble and switched format again to Blu-Ray for another new gen (well, partly the reason). Granted, M$ didn't have the option of using Blu-Ray for the 360, but we wouldn't have games on a grander scale as the Uncharted series without it. Come to think of it, this'll be the first time Sony hasn't used a new format for a new console. I wonder if Blu-Ray will be bursting at the seams with games on multiple discs at the end of next gen. Wasn't U3 almost 50GB / a dual-layer BD? We're gonna need faster internet speeds if we're gonna make digital our primary method of buying / storing games on (and bigger 2.5" HDDs for that matter - the 1TB in my PS3 is now 3/4 full). Lord knows we don't need another optical format.

andrewsqual wrote:But the PS3 can now play PS2 games completely through software. How hard would it be to make an emulator for PS4 then? I think Sony should really consider allowing the PS4 to play PS1 and PS2 games on disc as it would be a very nice selling point (not that the PS1 thing on PS3 did really anything, seriously the amount of people who don't know that all PS3 systems can play PS1 games right off the disc)
