Was wondering when this was coming. Remember it being pretty buggy a few months into launch on PS3 though. Between this & Evolve. Should tie me over until that Left 4 Dead 3 game, unless that's in the vault with Half Life 3. Reply 0
  • Evolve thrills, but for how long?

  • Cringles88 10/02/2015

@SonicUk I in no way said my opinion was fact. If that's how some took it, then so be it. COD 4 was the exception for me. Great gaming memories, online was great for it's time. I'm merely making the point that this game is no more repetitive than the likes of Fifa or COD online at least.

The ''Not paying 50 for an online only game'' crowd probably buy the 50 Fifa every year, which adds less than almost any other yearly game. As for not supporting the DLC madness, don't buy it, I won't, I'm happy with the base game & future free maps. But plenty will, so makes no difference. Publishers changing things for the worse.

Come on guys! People been buying COD & Fifa for almost a decade now? Basically 60 map packs & football shirts. COD's terrible single player in no way makes me think 'don't feel so bad buying this crap game, also got a crap single player'.

Afraid of 'all you do is hunt a monster' opposed to,''all you do is kick a ball, or watch the other guy rage quit, or go prone to shoot someone in a generic COD map, even an old map reskinned'

No doubt 2K are taking the piss with DLC. Between digital prices & DLC, Is there an actual 'dead on' publisher out there?

Willing to give this a go, as I love Turtle Rock games, they get the co op right. I came away from the beta, equally concerned, but wanting more...Plus after the BF Hardline beta, which was comically bad, I'm gonna need an online game to play this year, & like Ash Ketchum, I choose this. I still play L4D, my main concern is map design in this game, do things change slightly like in L4D etc.

  • 3GB Evolve day-one patch improves load times, matchmaking

  • Cringles88 09/02/2015

Game launch unfinished? Come on guys, they were still testing in January! That's a decent turn around for a patch. Would you rather it be released without the patch & then you complain anyway? Some things like balancing monsters can only be fixed when millions are playing. You need that feedback. Reply -10

@Darren I was just thinking that. At first it said 27 GB, then changed to 3.14. Unless it downloads the rest during the game? I'm unsure. Reply +1
  • Cringles88 20/01/2015

What happened here? This was a solid 9/10 when it was originally released on the Gamecube. I do agree that anyone coming from RE4 onwards as there first time with the series, will probably go mental at controls & puzzles. IT was just the norm back in the day. No hand holding in this one.

I can't wait to vist Lisa again....I'm so scared already :(

Update: Seems to be on the PS4 store already, at least the webstore. 15.99 cross buy for PS4/PS3. Also it's 3.14 GB

Update Part deux: Some madness going on with my download, flashing between 27.GB & 3.14 GB.

Update part 3: I'm an idiot, it's a play while you download deal.

I still don't know who this is marketed towards. Nothing wrong with the classic USB key into TV, or Roku box. So it's basically what the PS3 had built in for free? I don't know why I'm so confused by this product :( Reply +2

With no mention of anywhere outside of the USA, I'm struggling to see the relevance of this article on a website called ''Eurogamer'', from a company based in Brighton.

  • The seven year shadow left by Modern Warfare

  • Cringles88 02/11/2014

Some of my best gaming related memories are with this game, private matches playing Tag with a knife or C4 or that Micheal Myres, thing. I think the series has really suffered from being an annual release. Reals in the money of course, for the big guys, & that's all that matters. But the general opinion from gamers seems to be the same.

Even if the new COD is excellent, there have been to many years of bad ones, that now we just expect them to be bad. Major Series fatigue. I got it with Assassins Creed & Battlefield.

It does look bad for Sony weather it's kinda their fault or not. Turtle Rock bound to have access to 2.0 weeks ago to test their game on no?

Also kind of a Don Mattrick moment when 2K suggest you play on PC or Xbox One instead, as PS4 will be delayed.

@podgek293 TO be fair, any time I played it, no one could figure out what we had to do to 'finish' the level, is it just a continuous horde mode? I'm still chasing a Left 4 Dead style game to fill the void. Hopefully Evolve does that. Reply 0
  • Cringles88 31/10/2014

Always hated the mode, hopefully they've changed it a bit. This mode is bound to be in the contract for every game now anyway.

I do hate 'leaks' of any kinda really. Like the AC WWII thing yesterday. Taking away any 'surprise' in games these days.

Bad controls, bad camera angles, FOV pretty bad. Black borders. 8/10? I couldn't bring myself to finish it as I think it's terrible. For me, this is Shinji Mikami poor game. Resident Evil remake still stands as his best work for me.

Is the game engine the last of the PSOne engines? Not a graphics whore, but when a game engages me no other way, I'd at least like something nice to look at. Just a terrible game technical wise.

Kinda bummed out I didn't like this game either. Roll on the RE remake, remaster thingy. Can't wait to play that again. Lisa. :O

  • For Sony, Destiny is the first-party PlayStation 4 game it needs this Christmas

  • Cringles88 09/09/2014

I do wish Sony spent some big bucks on making PSN somewhat of a service to be happy with. Fair play to Sony taking the risk on Destiny. Still find it odd that the 'console war' can be as cheeky as making a game only advertised on one system.

Bit of a 'take that' for MS trying to tell everyone Tomb Raider was an exclusive. Kinda annoying really, actually really annoying for gamers. It was a novelty in the 90's for a console war. Now I just wanna play games & not worry which publisher is giving Sony or MS a handy in the background.

@propalex Never played it, as I was told I wouldn't have the patience for it haha. I'll try Bloodborne all the same. Didn't know it was a 3rd person RPG's type game. I think I was confusing it with The Order, so the video really threw me off. Reply +2

I'm not seeing the hype behind this at all. But Demon Souls never appealed to me either. After Devil May Cry & Castleveina, it feels like this game isn't anything to get excited for, just the generic 3rd person hack & slash type game.

  • Cringles88 15/07/2014

Easy way into the Beta is to pre order on PSN. Beta downloads, then you can just cancel that order. Only works for on PS4 I think.

Bit poor not letting everyone pre load the beta. Just poor that pre loading at all hasn't really taking off in this gen yet.

@George-Roper Cheers, was hoping for someone to explain it to me better. My only experience is Day Z, Rust, or online games really. Reply +2
  • Cringles88 11/07/2014

I like the idea, & I think it works well on Steam. I'm open to it working on console, but depends on price & games really. I'm happy to buy Day Z in alpha state, also knowing that a year from now, I'll get the full game at another 20 or so, but I'm never going to buy 'watch dogs early access''.

I'm not a massive PC gamer, but is the early access stuff mostly for MMO's? Not many of them coming to console is there?

Also isn't it more for smaller independent developers? I can see ''COD early access''.

Bonus note, I've had enough early access with most games over the last 2 generations. BF4 being the best example of them all, 50 early access.

  • How Dying Light is keeping the zombie genre fresh

  • Cringles88 08/07/2014

Not sure I see the ''too many zombies'' argument. We have walking dead & World War Z over the last few years in film/TV, maybe 4-5 games in the last 5 years that isn't a mobile game? My memory is terrible though. I'd be more inclined to say there hasn't been a good zombie game, instead of too many. In fact, there hasn't been many good FPS in general, why single out games with zombies? I've seen far more games with humans, god damn the human shooting fps genre. Reply +15

  • DICE ponders: what did people really like about Battlefield: Bad Company?

  • Cringles88 24/06/2014

To be honest, I can't put my finger on it either. Bad Company 1 was my first BF experience, & compared to everything else, it was amazing. BC 2 added more destruction, that was just raising the bar even more. I loved BF3, spent maybe around 300 hours playing it. But with BF4, I think I've exhausted the franchise for myself. Bugs, negative opinions about DICE & EA aside, I don't think BF4 has anything on the previous games. Maps are pretty bad really. There isn't one map that I look forward to, everyone I know sighs when Flood zone comes up haha.

All my opinion of course, but I think with the terrible 7 months of BF4, & just franchise exhaustion. I'm pretty much done with the series, same as COD & Assassin's Creed. Too much, really is too much for those that have been playing it for years.

Even the Friday the 13th movies got worse as they went on. Tool, the band, release an album every, 5+ years? Publishers are just pushing too much for quick cash.
