"If I used Kickstarter... I wouldn't raise huge sums of money or break any records, but that's not what I want to do. I want to make a game."
I think you're underestimating how much support a Gilbert-led return to Monkey Island would actually receive there Ron.
I'm sure that even a Kickstarter created with goal to simply to get the license back off of Disney would make close to what the Double Fine Adventure did. Reply+12
I'm confused. Of all the things you could criticise Sony/the PS3 for, a lack of late-cycle exclusive AAA games seems the least valid. Do Ni No Kuni, God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls and (maybe finally this year) The Last Guardian not count? Reply+9
No disrespect to the other licensed Lego games, but Marvel has enough characters in their back catalogue to fill over 100 playable minifigs and not resort to 'Henchman 1-5'. Reply+3
As someone who has never played a Persona game, likes the idea of them, and has only just picked up a Vita, except for missing out on experiencing the other titles in the series would I be missing anything if I pick this up?
Beyond the above review and the description 'a JRPG in a school' I am fairly ignorant of the series and I'm hoping the dialogue isn't going to refer bak to former events/characters too much. Reply0
My only reservation is this: "Wright will be joined by a new female companion"
That's fine as long as we see Maya at some point after being painfully absent from Apollo Justice. Seriously, what happened to her after the third game Capcom/Shu Takumi... I need to know! Reply+3
Any word on whether the existing iOS version of the first game automatically transfers over in the collection? I'm pretty sure that I read that the Japanese version did back when it was first announced.
...though to be honest this is the only series where I'd buy it again (for what would be the third time counting my ds version) without any complaints. Reply0
Completely OT, but I wish for once I could browse the comments section of an article on EG without seeing Supermeatboy3D spouting irritating bollocks in the first two or three posts.
Might have to try that ignore option I've heard about but never resorted to before.
OT: As someone who works in a phone store I can honestly say that the iPhone 5 will have to be something special to impress me and my customers.
A lot of people come in looking for the iPhone and I'm happy to sell it to them, but anyone who does so and at some point tentatively asks "err... is there anything else I should consider" nine times out of ten walks out with an SIII and occasionally a One X.
It usually goes like this: "So you mean I could buy a phone with additional storage options, the option to replace an ailing battery, a 24 month guarantee (as opposed to Apple's 12), a sharper, more flexible OS, some extra fun hardware features, still find all of the same apps and pay less?... okay."
And I say this as an iPhone 4S and MacBook Pro owner feels no malice towards either. In fact I adore my MacBook. Reply+5
Well, with that sufficiently spoiled by the sub-header...
I like how the reapers have gone from this:
"We are eternal, the pinnacle of evolution and existence. Before us, you are nothing. Your extinction is inevitable. We are the end of everything... We impose order on the chaos of organic evolution. You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it." - Sovereign
To this:
"Yeah I'll join you Mr. Shepard, we were only created by a glowing blue kid with retarded logic anyway and I fancy a change..." - Leviathan
And just on the point of Leviathan being a possible EMS addition... why? Especially if you have a full EMS count already.. what is the point in having more points that do absolutely nothing except reveal the dumbest ending available? Do you get an even dumber ending? Reply+12
If you own a Wii, or indeed a GameCube, The Twin Snakes is well worth hunting down as a complementary purchase to the HD Collection. If you're set up with a component cable, you should also be able to run the game in 480p, too
To my knowledge this is completely incorrect.
PAL Gamecube games only support 576i and 480i so even if you had a Wii/Gamecube with the correct cables this is impossible. NTSC GC games support 480p no problem and if you can get by region locking with mods or freeloaders then yeah you could technically play cube games in 480p on a PAL system, but it would almost certainly void your warranty (if not being illegal... I'm not too sure on that).
I have a Wii, an official component cable and The Twin Snakes and trust me it doesn't support 480p in any way and looks like fuzzy arse on an HDTV... as does every other GC game I've tried.
I recognise you said 'should' in that statement, but I'd probably have checked this before posting the article.
Edit: Just so you know, I'm not trying to be a dick about this, but I for one bought the pricey component cables a while back in the hope I'd be able to play GC games on my HDTV... despite it improving the graphics for Wii games no end I was disappointment it wasn't possible for cube games and I wouldn't want anyone to buy one on the basis of the above statement only to be very irritated. Disagree with the example of Heavy Rain... not in principle, as it should have worked. The problem was I didn't give a fudge if any of the characters packed it in post-stupid twist. As persus-9 said, make me care first. Reply0
How about I get one of these for free as an 'ambassador'? Free games are great (especially considering the quality of the titles), but I'm more concerned at having shelled out a significant amount of money for what will essentially be an outdated console design by its next iteration. Reply0
