@evarofzentral That's right - Hong Kong is a "Special Administrative Region" until 2047, so is able to have its own legal system, freedoms and democracy until then. Hence why you can speak freely about the CCP and demonstrate in public in Hong Kong whereas doing the same in Mainland China might get you into trouble. Reply0
@Oli - was that an old DS game or a 3DS game? My Japanese machine seems able to play most of my old DS games (which are mainly US and UK). Don't have any non-Japanese 3DS games to try out yet. Reply+1
Was playing more last night (halfway through now) and they really are very similar indeed (differences between brawler and slasher not especially pronounced). Turns out it's the same developer too. Splatterhouse is a pretty mindless game, but quite fun - definitely one where you can switch off your brain and play for a while. Reply0
I played this last night (came out over here yesterday). Have any of you played Afro Samurai? Because Splatterhouse is very similar indeed - there's a similar artstyle (characters have a quasi-cel-shaded look), similar fighting style, a similar buddy character who speaks to you all the time, and even the boss fight I played was similar. It basically felt like Afro Samurai only with metal instead of hip-hop and more blood and gore. If that's what you want, then I think you'll enjoy it. Reply+1
Perhaps instead of a game where you pretend to play a guitar you could have one where you pretend to be playing a game where you pretend to play a guitar:
Same here - I have an almost identical set up and it's silky smooth at all times, with 4xAA and 16xAF. Only difference is that I turned off SSAO. Reply0

But real DJ doesn't have to match on-screen notes - this is a controller and not proper DJ equipment :)"
Oh, I know! I've been DJing (in clubs and at festivals) since 1997 (I am old)! Of course this game is nothing like real DJing (you're just pressing buttons to pre-mixed music, and indeed the music is closer to mashups than anything else), but Guitar Hero was not like playing a guitar.
I still want it and think it looks very fun indeed. But I want the soundtrack even more. :) Reply+3
As regards the crossfader issue - a lot of crossfaders on proper DJ mixing consoles don't have much resistance for the mid-point, which is why you find DJs using the individual channel faders instead or as well. It's just something you'd have to get used to in the game.
Wonder if there's any chance of a release of the actual soundtrack (not the Eminem/Jay-Z best of in the Renegade edition)? Reply+1
Hmmm, so is the PS3 version better (albeit only slightly)? I already have the 360 version, and have preordered the PS3 one. Hate not knowing which platform is the best version - at least with the Spectrum/C64 it was usually easier to tell!
The only improvement I can see with PS3 is 7.1 sound (assuming it has it)... Reply0
Unfortunately the PAL version of Kuon, whilst rare, is also cut. The creepy introduction scene from the JAP and US version is missing in the PAL version. :( Reply0
I bought this and Bad Company at the weekend and ended up spending most of Sunday playing it. I think it's ace, to be honest. The QTEs are easier to perform in the full game (haven't missed a single one) and some of the fights are awe-inspiring - there's one at the start on a boat where my jaw was on the floor. Reply0
It's not Mexico again all the way through is it? I thought we sorted Mexico out in the first game. One of the great things about R6: Vegas was the fact that it started somewhere that looked like Mexico (I forget where) and then you zoomed off to radically different environments in Las Vegas. Reply0
