This is how Xbox One game trade-ins will work, apparently
When reselling a used game is more inconvenient (even if there was no fee!) consumers will be likely to be more careful when buying a new game.
Personally I read reviews and try demos to get an idea about a game before buying. But once in a while I take the chance and after trying the game, I realize I made a mistake and quickly sells the game off online. If I'm forced to used a officially licensed retailer to do this (and even pay a fee), I will be less likely to take chances. Reply +9
Game will still be tied to the console and/or account though. Reply 0
1) Most of this "fee" goes to the publisher (not the developers) and MS/Sony. It's just pure greed.
2) Less freedom for consumers. We are now forced to involve MS (and maybe Sony) and an officially licensed retailer if we want to sell or give our used games to other people. Reply +7
A) Not blocking used games
B) Allowing used games
Sounds like the exact same thing to me!
EDIT: And I'll say it again: I fully expect Sony to do similar things with PS4, just in a different way. Maybe using RFID/NFC tech. which they are trying to patent. Reply +4
