I'm going to try my luck at Game on Oxford Street tomorrow afternoon. I have a copy reserved in Welwyn but with the delay, and me being in work tomorrow, I must improvise. Best laid plans of mice and men, and all that ...

It's possible that stock levels aren't what they should be due to the thingy, so probably a good idea to cover all your bases. I might be overestimating demand though.

I got this game yesterday and after downloading what appeared to be two patches got to play it last night. I was initially a bit concerned that the game might be too simplistic since it's a left to right 2D scroller than uses only jump and grab/pull but the levels have quickly become more complex on the African Savannah area and the fun is in exploring and collecting as many of those yellow orbs and items as you can. The game is undeniably charming and the presentation is top-notch. The Sackperson is cute and full of personality despite the lack of vocalisation and limited animation. You only have to watch someone playing this and it is hard to resist the urge to play it. I also love Stephen Fry's narration, it suits the game to a tee and I'm almost disappointed when he stops talking. The music is also superb and works perfectly with the style of the game.

If I have one gripe its the lack of costume parts for your Sackperson. You only seem to unlock a handful of parts at the start of each new area and that's it. Every other item you collect is a sticker or some other non-costume item. In two hours of playing I still only have a pair of red boxer shorts, some trunks and Elizabethan pants for example and only two hairstyles.

I like the game, although I admit I've yet to be convinced that this is a 9 or 10/10 game as the reviews have said because so far it feels like a solid 8 to me. Not tried the level designer or multiplayer yet though.

Yeah. Try multiplayer.

You unlock many costume parts from acing the levels.
Try unlocking 100% of items in levels and completing without dying.

Either I'm missing something, or this whole section relies on luck and the grip button working 100% (which it doesn't, ever) FUCKING GAH.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, WHAT A SHIT AS FUCK LEVEL

Pad is ready to be thrown...

Bunker per chance?

It's one of the Asian levels (can't remember the creator, I turned it off in disgust last night) with lots of spinning wheels and death at the bottom of the screen for those who miss, or the shit 'grip' fails on them again.

Oh, was it a user level?

I thought it was a story level. I thought the 'grip' was always very solid though. Unless in this level he just made it retarded.

And lets try and not bring scores up too much in this thread. We don't need everyone who's played it coming in to say, 'Not a 9 or 10' or 'Only a 9? WTF EG?'.

There's probably another tard thread for that.

And here's the group

It's gonna be pretty active I'd say, it was for the beta anyway.

If you like getting marketed in the face then you'll enjoy EGers pimping their levels in your face! :)

There's a thread for all the levels we've created in there.

I don't think we need people in here banging on about scores too much, which will inevitably lead to bickering and stupid comparisons to other highly rated games. Which will as usual lead to many pages of shite.

Pretty sure he's talking about the Endurance Dojo in the temples. It's not that bad... tried a different pad? Because grip works fine for me.

That's a fucking awful advert... not to mention they make it look like you can import pictures.

It's a shit ad. You can import pics but it doesn't actually say "requires EyeCam for picture importing" on the ad, which is a bit naughty.

Played this for the 1st time last night.... I have to say Im a little disappointed. Its very endearing and all but I cant get on with the controls. This is a platform game right....? the controls are really 'loose'. I guess I was hoping that it would at least come close to the precision of a Mario and perhaps thats why Im a little underwhelmed. Does it get better .... ie. do you get used to it??

I really like the whole concept but at the mo the wooly controls are getting in the way of my enjoyment.... :(

Great advert - made me laugh anyway. Like that it puts the 'create' mode up front too. Shame lots of families won't be able to justify spending £300 just to be able to play this :-(

It's good but not best online, it's best played multiplayer on the same machine if you can.

Unfortunately all that shows is that MM have/had it working on a build at some time. Doesn't say when, or if it will actually be released. I hope it does, but I guess a certain number of PS eyes have to be sold before it'll happen.

My copy finally turned up this morning! I can't wait to resume work on my magnum opus level, most of the time on the beta I barely played the game I spent nearly all my play time in the editor so I'll be plowing through the tutorials as fast as possible this evening. Pity we can't just grab a save with the tutorials already done. :)

It will be patched in, MM said as much last week.
