Minimum of 10,000 HP? I must have already put 20 hours in and I'm only on 2500.

You'll probably find it better to keep skipping around the difficulties as you will hit points where your current weapons won't cut it and you'll need to go and do a couple of levels on a harder difficulty in order to get better kit.

Incidentally, the health counter stops at 9999, but you can go on beyond that, it just doesn't show your total. If anyone was wondering :)

I started doing this more at the weekend Jellyhead. The difficulty is all over the place in this game.

someone mentioned earlier to farm for weapons on level 40. Good tip. I have been playing level 41&41 a lot over the weekend on inefno and getting loads of nice new weapons.

Yeah, the difficulty isn't linear as you might expect. We found that we'd plateau with our weapons either not carrying enough ammo in the clip, not reloading quickly enough or just not doing enough damage. At that point it's a choice of farming missions for health/armour, doing later levels on an easier difficulty or earlier levels on a harder difficulty to chase weapons. It's all about the weapon drops as levels seem to drop a certain range of weapons depending on difficulty which is why skipping around when you've hit a wall pays off.

There's a couple of sweet spot levels that i'm sure are there to encourage you to jump about rather than just plough through linearly.

I love thinking something's not right and then realising that there's no sounds of gunfire and screaming and shouting and acid and explosions, just silence... and carnage.
My face aches from grinning so much when i play this game and it's sooo much better with a like minded mate in co-op :)

The game can be frustrating when you hit those walls though and cant beat any new levels. That is why I didnt play it for a few months because I didnt realise it was better to jump around the different levels on different difficulties.

Can anyone please give me some solo tips for Inferno (not the difficulty, the level of the same name) on Inferno?

The second wave always gets me.

I have a big list of the weapons and what level/difficulty they start dropping on. It was secreted somewhere about the d3Publisher website and was found when the game was first released.

Most people back then swore by the ZEXR-Gun.

I would like to get my hands on that list.

Is the ZEXR-Gun the sentry gun which fires missiles (900 damage points each).

I tried using that but it would always kill me when any bugs got near. Good fun though. On level 40 I just dropped them down the hole and it killed all the spiders for me.

I feel like i'm on ignore sometimes :p

Even two player what's the weapon load out? I tried to get my girlfriend it help but she was fucking useless (can't use dual analogues :P) and then I tried to do it on my own using both controllers...which works for wave one..

Both players had ZEXR and Lysander Z.

Lysander preferred over say a rocket launcher? I'd have thought the Z would have a too slow fire rate but I guess it is one shot one kill.

HP per player if you recall?

It's the last damn level I need.

I can't quite remember the HP. It was over 8500, I know that.

I actually didn't find Inferno that hard. The hardest level by miles was Wrath, which took a good number of attempts. IIRC we did inferno first time.

Er, then it was ZEXR and AF-100 for one player, ZEXR and Stingray MF for the other.

I picked this up for 7.99 in Argos a few weeks back. My son and I are currently on Level 43, nearly finished. Well Normal difficulty anyway.

Great fun.

Co-op is loads of fun, far too much fun in fact :)

For farming health farm on level 52, on Normal, not Easy. On Easy there's less powerups allowed on screen, and there's less enemies. On Normal you should be able to survive indefinately.

Weapon wise, don't farm level 40 (The level with pure Red Ants) right away, at least not for long. Farm level 46 (The final caves level, pure Spiders), as you can only get the Lysander Z on level 44 or greater. Once you have the Lysander Z, drop back to the ant level as you get more weapons per level there.

You don't need 10,000 hp to finish this; I'm on 5,000 with 5 levels left and I'm 99% certain with co-op I can now do it. It's all about tactics.

ZEXR is the gun with 500 shots, the final turret, and a godsend.

The Lysander Z is better than a Rocket Launcher for pure damage.

C70 bombs are not to be sneezed at. In co-op, one person with C70's, one with Turrets and then rifles/stingrays too. With Turret and C70's I *almost* completed Wrath solo the other day.

The AF-100 is not necessarily the best rifle. If you're fighting bugs it's great, but vs UFOs and Hectors you want the one before; it fires 20 shots per clip, 700 damage per hit, and double the range.

All I need now is the Lysander Z and the ZEXR gun.

I played level 46 about 10 times last night, picked up the AF100 but still no Lysander or ZEXR. up to 3000HP now.

so is this game possible to beat solo?
