I thought it was stunning. Very impressed. Almost made me forget for a moment that I wish the BBC would stop bloody advertising itself between every sodding programme.

It's sinister on many levels not just the bodyless heads.
When the voices all talk in unison it makes me think the BBC just wants to absorb us all into its collective.

I thought it was pretty amazing. Didn't pay the slightest attention to what it was actually about but it still was breath-taking to watch.

Once again an EG forumite voices exactly what I hadn't yet quite worked out in my own head.

It's impressive, but nasty.

I just think the last line where "she" says something like "Yes TV is getting better!" is the thing I find offensive.

No it bloody well isn't!

Apparently the Beeb have had over 400 complaints about it.

Not surprising. It's disturbing in the extreme.
What's wrong with just having somebody sitting behind a desk saying 'There are other channels available - buy a freeview box or get Sky.'?

People are weird. I think it's rather cool and knocks all those stupid posey idents into a cocked hat.

Except the near-snatch-shot flamenco one of course.

I spoke to my brother last night, and apparenlty one of his twin 3 year old boys has been up all night with nightmares for the last week after seeing one of these trailers.

Edit: The digital heads one, not the "flamenco snatch" one...

The Flamenco snatch one gave me nightmares. Have you any idea how fucking difficult it is to PAUSE just on that moment where you think you're going to see the bearded clam?

Kinda liked it but thought i'd be better in a horror move, some bimbo getting chased by a mass of heads over the yorkshire dales, then she falls over, and her bikini top falls off and the chase resumes. Either a bimbo or a kitten and some rabbits(in bikinis also)

I thought i was the only one thinking "Impressive, i feel queasy though." I don't like it at all, in fact i'll switch over when it comes on. It's the babbling of the voices and the bubbling of the faces.
Globular anthropomorphism for teh yucky!

It never bothered me in the first place (I really don't know what you guys were scared of) but it gave a freind of mine nightmares that her skin was like bubblewrap, which is a little freaky.

You should get a PVR. Frame advance ftw!

/has never actually tried pausing just on that moment but you've made me tempted

Bear in mind that on most channels you won't be able to see a thing for all the compression artifacts on each frame.

BBC have binned the offending article.

If they were so bothered about what a few hundred people thought about this advert why the f%*k didn't they pay any attention to the thousands who said 'Get rid of these stupid freakin' weather forecast maps and give us back the old system we liked!'

/still very annoyed about having to spend 75% of the weather forecast looking at a bit of the country I'm not interested in

BTW: Toast - LOEG in the post

I thought the ad was really very well done. All those who were "freaked out" by it must surely live in darkness 90% of the time.

I had no feelings towards it.
But my mum and 4 yrs old sister were terrified by it.

I kinda understand why, with it's subliminal anti-christ-like assimilation message.
The voice kinda remined me of the liberty computer system in Headhunter: redemption.

You're all weird, I for one am glad it'll not be visiting my tv anytime soon.
"Oh, it ran it's course so we took it down a little early." said the BBC.
Nothing to do with the 1300 complaints then?

Eurogamer is famous!

A story about the complain sent regarding this advert has a quote from eurogamer in it!

I suppose any monkey could have typed that tho.
