You know the one about the flood instead of an Earthquake. At least the guy wont be lacking water now. I think its hypothermia instead, poor sod.

The official website has'nt been updated since the end of January, it would be a real crying shame if the game got panned now. Im sure it was almost complete aswell.

Part of me thinks the developers are holding off on the game incase offence is caused to the Tsunami victims....hhhmmm.

The original Final Escape is one o theonly games to proper fray my nerves, I know all of the collapses etc are pre-scripter but climbing a ladder and the bottom falls away from it is a heart in throat moment for me.

I've not heard anything about it for ages and ages now. Not looking good, is it?

A shame, 'cos SOS was a great game!

Wouldn't be surprised if it got canned due to the tsunami, or at least indefinitely delayed. Shame. The first one, for all it's rough edges (and by god were they rough) was good fun. Not many games keep me going till the end but that one managed no problem.

A flood would've been good, I think. Plenty of opportunities for 'panic' moments.

What other disasters could they go with, I wonder? Erupting volcano, perhaps? Tornado! That'd be entertaining!

Volcano! Now THAT could be good. Perhaps they could just change the water textures from blue to orange :)

Other than that... plague of locusts? Nuclear test awakens giant dinosaur from it's slumber?

I think volcano could work very well...

You've got:
1. Smoke - lots of it. Crawling under it to avoid choking.
2. Explosions/flying debris. Look out for that falling boulder!
3. Earthquakes - just like the first game!
4. Lava flow - oh no! Burning cars coming this way!
5. Extreme heat - spontaneous fires breaking out.

Man, that would be brilliant!

SOS 2 would be nice, so would Michigan Report from Hell. What happened to it?

September according the the site thats bringing it over. Although it may be rather hard to get ahold of, the developer is mainly central Europe based. Its already released Guilty Gear Isuka, Graphitti Kingdom and Samurai Western and I have'nt seen any of them. Not even on the net either, so it looks like I might have to try the French amazon in order to get Michigan, if and when it actually arrives that is.

I still hold out some hope that SOS2 will turn up, really enjoyed the first one despite its rough edges.

Was never really sure if I wanted SOS or not, but this thread has peaked my interest so I've just got a copy off Ebay. Looking forward to it now.

This might amount to nothing, but...

I was flicking through the horrible OPSM2 pamphlet that came free with the demo disc that I bought the other day, and happened upon their 'upcoming' list at the end. There in the 'ages away' section was a picture of SOS Final Escape 2. Following the little arrow to the list, they have it attributed to 505 Gamestreet for a PAL release in 2007.

If there'd been no publisher listed then I'd have dismissed it immediately, but.... hope?

Had given up on ever seeing this!

The fact that they've named a publisher over here must mean it's a definite release now, surely?

Very nice. :-)

And 505 Gamestreet being the publisher means either a £20 or £25 rrp at most. which translates to £15-18 or less bought online. I'll definitely pick this up.

I hope there are some alternate 'get the girl' endings in this one too.

SOS was a great game - totally different to other stuff. Rough around the edges, but great to play. Glad to hear there's another one. :o)

Could get cancelled again, you never know. Polaroid Pete was cancelled approximately five seconds before release, when the publisher went tits-up back in 2001. And I'm still pissed off.

is there anything else new from 505 in there? Seems like there's always a new place to find out what games they're actually releasing - used to be their website, then their distributor's website, then play.com, then they actually issued press releases for a while (never saw that coming).. now OPSM2?

No, nothing else new. I checked once I'd seen SOS in the list. :-)

Some 505 stuff has a £29.99 RRP. Like Wild Arms 4 and Steambot Chronicles.

/Walk into shop.

/A Bryan Adams tape is playing.

/Drop voice several octaves.

/Speak in booming cinema hotdog ad voice to cowering shop assistant.

/I'll take a copy of Raw Danger friend.

/Leave shop, pausing to sneer at a sissy boy game called Danger. Real men take it raw.

A little preview from IGN, for the three people actually interested in this game. :-)

Yikes, that cover art looks even more horrific than the screenshots!

What was wrong with this one?

Thats enough to put me off the NTSC US version. I would rather take a chance on the PAL version which will probably have slowdown and framerate problems just like SOS. Thats how bad the cover art is. :-(

Still no confirmation of a PAL release, sadly. I've not picked up an OPSM in the last six months, so I've no idea if it's still in their list or not.

That's quite possibly the worst change in cover art I've ever seen. In fact, I'd be happy to say it's probably the worst change anyone's born witness to.

Prove me wrong guys ;-)

Bit of an old chessnut... but I think it proves that the US has its own 'standards' for box art.

Anybody want to link Final Fantasy XII? ;-)

Cheers Cappy, but I'd already considered ICO, and I believe this Raw Danger one is a far more heinous crime against cover art!

Okay then. Confront the horror of what the beastly philistines did to the otherwise excellent Kagero Deception II.

Even worse I own it. I actually kept the US disk in the PAL box with the PAL version and confined it to the cupboard.
