I hope Kromkamp learns the system sooner rather than later...

As an aside, has anyone got a copy of the animated gif of Vieira diving while passing Hamann? Been trying to track it down without success.

Cheers Furbs, I know you had it as your profile pic for a while, but my search skills failed me...I'll download it later to put on my phone along with the David Dunn's cocked up Rabona attempt..

Good analysis of zonal marking. I'm still not convinced, but it makes sense what they're saying.

Yeah, a mix of the two systems would be the best.. say you have a tall guy who's known for scoring headers it makes sense that you'd assign one guy to man-mark him for corners etc. - and then the rest can defend the zones..

Can someone clear up this question for me. I've always wondered if it is against the rules to use a team mates shoulders as leaverage for a header?

I presume it is, or some sneaky team (probably Bolton) would be at it.

I've thought this. Why can't you get a leg up, or a lift from the waist like in rugby line outs? Would be good for corners. No doubt Henry and Pirez will give it a go at some stage.

Leading to a broken leg and an own goal, no doubt.

But is there any rule stopping this?

There's that Brazilian kiddie who can run the length of the pictch balancing the ball on his forhead. That's allowed.

I reckon its allowed, just not done, as others have said, probaby because its not really advatageous.

I don't think there's enough time for it. Don't forget, players run into the ball, it doesn't fall on their heads, because crosses rarely are accurate enough.

Totally agree with the criticism at Robben for his dive.

Funny how he doesn't get punished for that, yet he gets sent off for celebrating with his fans who've travelled several hundred miles to support him and the team.

Hearts players have revealed that manger Rix is not even picking the team! I can see why Burley left.

Oh well that#s Mido in the final then, any chance of an early return, gone.

Hopefully they win it now, send him home confident.

Slow day for news so I thought I'd ask this:

Which of your team's jerseys was your favorite?

For me (Spurs)
This one.

The home jersey from that year to was fantastic.
Makes the curret crop look like a joke (and I lik them! But these were fantastic!)

OMG
15 Spurs jerseys lot on ebay! Mmmmmm

I don't really have a problem with the odd bit of mocking, its all part and parcel of it to me (and I would be a hypocrite if I said otherwise). What did annoy me was Jol quoted as saying he was disappointed at the WHU songs about Mido, and Spurs would never do such a thing.

Riiiiight!

David Burrows on a site called "Sporting Heroes"? Christ. Surely a sign of the Apocalypse?

Anyway, My favourite shirt thanks to fond memories of Paul Ince stalking the midfield and dispensing his own version of justice :)

But surely the Sol Campbel one steps over the line? I mean, that's seriously fucked up.

I agree, and I wouldn't go that far (don't think I've been that offensive anyway!).

Appartently it's cos the brain is scanning foir "eff" sounds and "of" has a "v" sounds.

Really make syou wonder how the old brain works, what other tricks are there to it?

Anyone have that email about how your only have to have the first and last letters of a word in the right place and the rest can be jumbled up and you can read it fine? That was mad!
