Benno 02 Nov '09 22:04:44	You dont get the same sense of achievement, but then again its just a game, how much does anyone really achieve on WoW? I want to see the content. In TBC I never cared, but Blizzard have done a good job of intertwining the Lich King into the 70-80 leveling process so I actually want to see his lair and see him die. To be fair, even watching a youtube vid of the instance and cutscenes (in HD) would probably satisfy my interest gland. send message \| log in to reply!

Benno 03 Nov '09 11:10:13	Is this coming from a bunch of people who have never played on a private server? Who wouldn't want to fly around and explore azeroth on a flying mount? Or play pvp with everyone in the same gear to see what a certain class is like? Its not a replacement, but can still be fun. send message \| log in to reply!

Bloodloss 03 Nov '09 11:27:35	Private servers could be good if you get a group of like-minded individuals to progress dungeons without cheating to get gear etc. More fun than it being impossible to progress due to noone doing Ulduar, let alone letting new players in in the real game (Nothing to do with my own situation, honest!) I've mainly wanted to play on one to test out the animations and look of a race, or testing out a class, doing things which the PTR or Wowmodelviewer can't. But I haven't due to hearing about the possibility of it messing up my .mpq files with fake items and shit, and being too lazy to do it on a different client/PC. send message \| log in to reply!

As an instant cast HoT it has saved my skin in a few boss fights - by which I mean solo fights with elite mobs at the end of quest chains which are supposed to be taken out by groups. I started out on private servers because i was of the opinion that you shouldn't have to pay for a game monthly after you buy it.
