its all rumor and speculation on the asda/sainsbury price war but it seems hotly tipped to be £26/£27 for 24/48 hours in store only and one per customer.

MW2 @ £27 = YOINK

Which days, though?

Starting midnight on monday, presumably.

My friend who works at Asda and sorted me out with my pre-order seems to think it's going to sell at around £45 despite the rumours I mentioned so I hope I end up proving him wrong.

I'm going to have to ignore this thread, preordered from Game already for guaranteed launch day delivery. Anyone wanna make feel better and tell me stock is massively limited?

Just found out that I can take the game back to Argos anyway if I can get it cheaper elsewhere (as long as it's sealed) so meh, bothered. Win-win either way! :o)

There won't be enough for everyone but I don't imagine you could call what the supermarkets will get limited.

I'm skint anyway, forgot this was out this month.

Just rang my local sainsburys and asked if i can reserve a game that's coming out next week,
"oh, do you mean, erm, modern gameforce 2? the one out on tuesday?"
"err, yes"
"we cant hold stock but we do have lots of stock and it will be 26.99"
sold.

The same COD4 that came out in 2007?
Well if it only took a year and a bit for the price to come down £16 then I guess I'll wait!

Modern Warfare 2 is confirmed at being £32 in Asda. Check todays papers for the adverts. Remains to be seen if the Sainsburys rumour is correct.

Try to befriend somebody who works in Asda, as then you'll be able to get it for under £30.

I was in Sainsburys yesterday and asked about reserving a copy on 360.

I was told by a lacky that they couldn't reserve copies but that they had received 300 copies.

Despite promising to boycott, I'll be there early on Tuesday :oS

Edit - Wasn't able to confirm the price though... Has any EGer seen the reputed advert in print in one of the weekend papers? I'm beginning to doubt that Sainsburys would undercut ASDA by £5!

I know everyone else is interested in some shooty game coming out tomorrow, but Zavvi appear to be fighting back with another Mega Monday:
- Mirrors Edge (360 & PS3) £7.95
- Advance Wars: Dark Conflict (DS) £7.95
- Resistance 2 (PS3) £14.95
- MotorStorm: Pacific Rift (PS3) £14.95
- Killzone 2 (PS3) £14.95
- Lego Batman £12.95
- Wet (360) £17.95

And you get the added benefit of browsing some Lingerie, along with your games...

Probably just trying to flog off the old copies now that you can get the GoTY version for around £20. Buying that content seperatly will cost you a lot more than £10, so I really wouldn't recommend going for that.
