Hi there, i've looked around the forum for an answer to my problem but I am still somewhat unclear.

I have a 22" Goodmans HD ready 1080p TV but there seems to be a problem. I'm not getting sound (I think I need an adapter of some sort to plug my Red and White cables in)

I Have RGB cables plugged into Component (YPbPr) but I do not have any 'holes' for my Red and White audio cables.

Is my TV incompatible with rocking the HD with sound or is there something I can get to be able to hear?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Do you not have an amp or surround sound system you can plug them into ?

Otherwise you need a cable thingy,my brothers tv was the same...alternatively buy a hdmi cable ?

Unfortunately I do not have surround. Will the hdmi solve the problem instantly?

You can get a Y-cable. The 2 phono leads plug into it, then it terminates into a headphone jack.

Hmm that sounds a fair bit more confusing than getting the hdmi cable

I never claimed that my stuff should be working because I "have ALL 3 cables plugged in". I knew that 5 were needed, but didn't know what I needed to use the extra 2 that didn't have holes (or ports, or whatever the hell they're called)

Two things:

1. HDMI isn't on ALL 360s, so I hope yours is a new one with the port. Check that before doing anything.

2. There must be an audio in for component, most likely a headphone jack. That Y splitter's a lot cheaper than a HDMI cable.

It's unlikely but does your tv have an optical in?

Out of interest - what's the model number? If I can pull it up on the Goodmans support page I can look at the manual and find out the audio in...

Does your tv not have the standard red white yellow component in? And how come it hasn't got the red/white audio in for the hi def component (grey) blue green red or whatever they are. I bought a new tele a couple of weeks ago (LG 37" 1080p etc etc woohoo) and it has basic red/white/yellow component on the side, and on the back with the hdmi component (grey ones) it has the red/white audio aswell, and my older tele (19" hdmi) has red/white audio with the hdmi component. You should've got a better tele, with decent input options.
Hope that helped.
