Sorry but it just sounds like laziness. Stop posting on here and get the shit done. I'm sure you will surprise yourself when you get going. And you may not need a degree to get a decent job but you at least need a record of something impressive. Dropping out of jobs and or college courses will look very bad to any and all employers.

Mowgli and Khanivor win 1000 irony points each. Khavinor, 1 article =/= true.

We have been over this before and you were wrong then. If you had a foot fetish you would be a podophile.

But you arent.

Did you even read that article? The author questions the decision to remove the "Asperger's" label and replace it with "mild autism". He's not questioning the existence of either autism or Asperger's Syndrome. You really are an embarrassing moron.

Yes I've just read half of it, Khavinor you really are spiteful little cock that just Googles stuff to bitch about shit. I didn't even bring it in.

You seem more interested in an internet argument than doing anything about your fucked up situation.

G'luck with that.

You do not need a degree in anything to be a games 'journalist'. You need to write some pieces that get published (pretty easy given the internet) and build up enough work to be able to show somewhere that are willing to offer you some money for a few pieces then go on from there.

Which is all very simple, apart from the important thing you forgot - you also need a recognition that there are literally thousands of other people doing exactly the same thing as you, and only a few dozen paid jobs waiting at the end of it.

One thing that hasn't really been asked here, as far as I can see, is whether this is just one unit you're struggling with. Are you doing fine with the assignments for your other units, and if so, is this a core unit? If it's just a unit you made a bad choice on, then there's a strong argument for just doing your best and making better unit choices in future. If it's a core unit... Well, yeah, you should be thinking about whether you can change your degree, as a second year essay in a core unit is NOT something you should be struggling this much with.
Your first paragraph crossed my mind - as for the other, this is my first assignment...

M_E, just a bit of friendly guidance I guess (lol, thanks to those who have offered) and to raise my spirits. And a diversion. :/

Fuckin hell, lighten up, I'm only ribbing the fella. And read the 1st paragraph again; the article was the first thing to pop up on the simple fact that the term is likely to be dropped as an official diagnosis in the next revision of the shrink's handbook.

Anyway, let's drop it and get back to the task at hand: trying to slip a piece of paper down the gap between this thread and a blize one.

Soz but I'm rather sore about the whole AS thing; I've had many people dismiss it and as many of the EG collective know that until I saw a specialist as opposed to a fuckwit psychiatrist, it was dismissed out of hand then (which is part of the reason I'm at uni so late).

Plus I take things rather literally...

;)

There my be thousands of guys writing games reviews, but 90% of them are boring as hell. The ones who actually cover the game and yet are humourous get my vote.

There was a prime example on EG a while back. Forget the game, but it was done from the perspective of a fighter pilot, IIRC.

Yeah, I won't get into games journalism. I wanna do my degree, it's just soooo hard. Plus I'm not a fan of metaphysics. Just seems like poncing around to me. Or Nietzsche. That's another module. Kant is interesting but he writes like a cunt (honestly, why do WE have to make things so intelligible when they never bothered. And then there's Hellenistic philosophy; which I thought I wouldn't enjoy, but do.

I want to do theory of mind though. That's what I get for attending UWE (although apparently it's the 10th best in the country for philosophy).

Holy shit!

I've just remembered I'd love to be a forest ranger or work for a charity in a meaningful way! (Not harassing people on the street)

A heads up - working for a charity in a meaningful way (IE more than just fundraising by sitting in a bath of beans) more often than not means you have to bow to the chairmen and director's every whim.

Yeah but it'd be for a cause that I believe in as opposed to say - invading other countries or working for a government that I think are cunts.

What sort of cause would that be? I (well, my dad really) knows a fuck of a lot about working higher up for charities, so depending on what it was I could find more info.

Wow, that'd be nice of you - things concerning the environment, human rights, 3rd world debt or anything vaguely left-wing would be considered. Thing like helping old people or people with disabilities that get government help already aren't high on my agenda.
