They've never asked for any more money...
Hmm..........
When then?!
I've been following it pretty closely....
All the original payments made on credit cards were refunded (eg most of them). Their bank would be liable to refund these purchases if it went tits-up, and they weren't willing to take the risk, when they looked into it (after the sudden influx of cash) and realised 1000's of people were buying something that didn't actually exist.....
More details will be revealed when it's all over - I think someone is writing a book....

90 quid? I got my (pink) one for 25 quid brand new a couple of years ago. The pink is cool as well.

Nothing like an informed opinion...
Pandora isn't an althernative anyway tbh, it's a different thing. The best thing about both the GB Micro and the Wiz is the size, Pandora is pretty damn chunky. It's also vapourware more significantly.
This is that machine I was on about, the 'Dingoo', dodgy name but supposed to be a great little machine, better than the Wiz in fact , and theres a couple of sites out there doing some really good ports etc http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.20217
Ill be getting one when Ive got a bit more cash

Still prefer the SP as it can run GB/GBC carts....

The SP is a fine piece of kit.
Bought it for the Zelda Oracles games, never looked back!

How could it be?
The screen is too small and it can't play classic GB titles. The SP on the other hand - first one with built in light, rechargable battery and has the whole sexy flip cover.
Only downside is a headphone/power socket - although you can get an adaptor to fix that.

I was a big fan of the SP back in the day but the DS Lite is miles better.

The SP still has a place in my heart, I've got one of those 33% brighter ones in black - complements the DS quite well sat next to it. :)

I don't think Pandora is a scam as such, but I'm very dubious as to whether we'll ever see it.
Wiz is incredible for what it is. People expect way too much from a little £100 device. I fucking love the thing, and I know plenty of others who rate it also.
Does anyone know for certain if the Pandora is a scam or not? You see a LOT of people of pretty much every gaming forum saying to avoid it and that it's a scam..
I loved the GP2X it's probably my favourite console ever let alone handheld. Although when the time to get a new handheld came I plumped for a DS Lite rather then wait for a Wiz as the Wiz had shite looking controls.
But back on topic. I do genuinely prefer the GBA games library to the DS library. Although it's probably the old skool gamer in me prefering the SNES style action and platform games from the GBA, to the stream of JRPG remakes which seem to dominate non-casual games on the DS.

Pandora certainly is no scam. They're in production as I write this with the first production units shipping in the next couple of weeks apparently. There's a 'production unit showcase' thread hereL http://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php?/topic/50243-countdo...
I've actually tried to order twice form the first batch, but their sales guys insist on using Google checkout for thei online payment system which, in this case, has never worked for me. I shall wait until stock is imported, perhaps with the second batch of units.
Check out http://www.openpandora.org - for final prototypes and links to performance videos etc.
Almost there by all accounts.

I had to pull the countdown timer. I dared to be brave and got bit in the ass once again. :( Craig suggested I was crazy but there didn't seem to be anything else that could be screwed up at this point and I even factored in a couple extra days.
There was one part coming out of the molds messed up and they were to fix it, make new parts and ship everything tonight. Now, two more molds need the extra treatment and will take a few more days. I'm hoping they ship new parts this weekend but no more count downs. Unbelievable.
And so, the farce continues.....
