Set this up tonight.

Very impressed with it. Pretty decent selection of on demand stuff and i've already watched AVP:Requiem and am currently watching Airplane. Not a hint of buffering on either and the picture quality is pretty nice.

Be nice to have more channels on it but i'm sure that'll come in time.

Sorry to hear you watched AVP; Requiem. I hope it wasn't too painful.

It was silly fun, plus i often enjoy a bad movie more than a good one :P

For the people that are impressed with this, did you find the sample Sky News channel pretty bad in quality, ie: worse than Freeview?

Yes.

Plus: it was Sky Sports News, so automatically shit.

So the picture quality on Sky News isn't representative of the other channels?

On Demand > Streaming

But the demo vid they had of a looping clip from Sky Sports News was quite rubbish, I've found the live stuff to be far better. Is that what you're talking about or do they allow you to watch Sky News as a freebie?

Yeah just downloaded the player today, Sky News was available as a free channel. Looked shocking. Good to hear the OD stuff is better.

Come to think of it, it was a demo loop like you say.

I just think there should be a minimum of free content to lure you in, or you get a free week or something

Well this cool, there currently isn't any region restrictions on this. Sky News looks pretty good. If I can talk a Sky owning mate back home to sign up for me then
I'll be quids in.

So I finally decided to subscribe.

But they don't expect Maestro cards.

Well done there, Sky.

I know this has probably been covered, but 29 pages is a lot to read through so I'll just ask.

My father is a Sky customer, if I get him to sign up for Sky Player can I then register my Xbox to his Sky account? I live miles away from him and he doesn't have multiroom (if that's important).

I've read something about having to pay an extra £5 a month if you don't have mulitroom or if your Xbox is in a different house. Is this accurate? If it is, it doesn't sound too bad.

Help appreciated.

I'm currently doing what you're talking about. Only costs £5 and will work on your computer and your 360 if you want. :)

Thanks very much.

So it doesn't matter that the Xbox account is in my name and address then?

I don't have multi-room, but when trying to sign up for sky player on my xbox to get live tv, it appears this is only possible if i have sky multi-room which cost £9.75.

Above people have mentioned you can get the live programs for an additional £5 pound a month could some one please let help me out as I am completely bemused and confused with all the information and the lack of any real clear guidance.

thanks

Just been playing around with this at the weekend. The on-demand movies are by far the best part of the package for me. They're really crying out for dolby digital though. Looking forward to finally seeing [rec] later this week.

Also, am I right in thinking the quality of live tv can be adjusted with rb/lb but on-demand quality is fixed?

So is it established that PPV football isn't coming to 360 Sky Player then? Much as I'd prefer to watch on the big screen, methinks that Sky's new plan of all Sky Sports and ESPN games live on iPhone for a single £6 a month subscription fee seems like a slightly better deal than £35 or whatever it is on 360.

Booooo!

:(

I would be tempted to pay that and get the channels via my 360. But I'm not a Sky customer.

Anyone else having major issues watching anything on high quality tonight?

Keeps stopping to buffer. Usually works alright.

Bueller?

Word is they're going to reduce the price of Multiroom soon to a fiver, that's where the price is coming from. You could always contact Sky, they like people enquiring about paying them slightly more ;)

Or: get Sky Broadband Unlimited. It's actually rather good and you don't have to get the Multiroom sub for the 360 app.
