The picture isn't that bad. The live tv isn't great. But not as bad as people are making out.

I have to say the sky player has been worth the wait

Yep. Particularly if you've ever tried to watch a live football stream on the internet full screen, Sky Player 360 compares very favourably imo.

Forgive me for not trawling through the entire thread but at the moment I have sky, a 2 pack subscription and sky ports 1. It costs me about £25.

To use sky player it would cost me another £10 per month for what exactly? the same channels I am paying £25 for? What extra do I get for my tenner. I`m obviously missing something.

You get the channels that you subscribe to that are also available on Sky Player.

quality if fine to me, not a lot worse than ITV can be on my sky box

a friend of mine commented on how good the picture was!!

BTW how do you change the quality setting? I assume I have the best setting but wouldn't mind a play

@KevRuss you dont have to pay anything extra to watch the on demand stuff, if you want live tv for the channels you have that are available like Sky sports you can buy the sky player deal for £5 on the sky site

Its only worth having the live stuff if your Xbox is in a different room

If you have Sky Broadband Unlimited then you get the channels you're already subscribing to for free.

Check here, it's the same service just with a nicer interface on the 360 :)

Apologies for being lazy but has anyone got the free code? Basically I have sky but not BB or mulitroom I tried entering a code last week but that was when there were problems with the site, am I right in thinking I get the on demand free but the ciode gives me a month of live channels free? If so code please!!!?

If you've already used the code you can't use it again. It was the same code for everybody.

I know but I think the site was funny and the code never worked? I suppose the question I am asking is: Do I get free on demand viewing as I have sky and does the code enable me to have live tv free for the month or was the code just for me to use the sky player free of charge and I will have pay summet to use just the on demand stuff?

In that case, I don't know. I've got the full thing already on my laptop (stupid Xbox doesn't have it yet) cos the in-laws have multiroom with sports and movies.

I have checked and I am pretty sure I get access to it for free just not the live channels I think the code has not worked though as I'm sure that should give me a free month of live stuff!?

Well, I finally got my account set up and it turned out to be pretty pointless. I knew I'd only be able to access the On Demand stuff, but there's a totaly lack of content, or at least anything good.

If you qualify to be able to watch Live TV, I could see it being some use, but bleh. They may as well have just put up the BBC iPlayer, it would at least give us access to some decent content.

@Wintersnowblind
You can get a month free like me using the voucher code, better than nothing. I thought some of the stuff was ok good Naz doc to watch at some point!

As someone who doesn't have to pay any extra for it, it's great.

iPlayer using the same interface would truly kick arse, though, that's for certain!

If you don't subscribe to sky its a bit shit. Did someone mention a free month?

Subscription TV without the subscription is a bit shit, yes ;)

Unless you know someone who has Sky who won't mind you linking to their account....

Well, movies being the obvious exception, shirley? There's load up there.

Finally got this late last night. Haven't had a chance to set up multiroom yet but the on demand stuff is great. It buffers really quickly, picture quality is fairly good too.

Same. Loving it, just hopeful that when it launches properly many more films will be added.

just like to say, I am gobsmacked at the quality of movie watching, in an earlier post I said I thought the frame rate wasn't great but am watching W, the Gerorg W Bush movie and its perfectly acceptable for movie watching, not far off DVD and i'm someone who has is a keen blu ray buyer

movie's interesting too, I assumed it was a comedy but its actually a really good insight into the man

It is launched properly. Those are all the films currently available on Sky Movies. They're the same as are available on Skyplayer for PC. I don't see why people think there's more coming...

I am quite impressed overall.

One thing I noticed was that this weekends new films are already up to watch which I thought was quite good. I never use the conventional sky player so I don't know if that's common place.
