It's ok, they're always on standby for me.

deadzone has been reduced I reckon, i didnt have a problem with them before but it does feel 'better' somehow. Placebo effect maybe though :/

Don't sense much difference with the controls tbh

Hard to tell. I seem to be able to snap from target to target a little easier (maybe fine control after acceleration has been tweaked). But I can't be sure.

I reckon the MP freaks would know better. :)

I would laugh if GG did absolutely nothing and just pretended the controls had been changed.

They have removed the initial weight (slow movement) from the aiming. Now when you tilt the stick you are aiming at full speed instantly. It will really help for people who kept overshooting their target when trying to aim at them due to the movement being slow then speeding up.

If all the changes are rather subliminal. I think the deadzone has indeed been reduced as it seems the gun reacts quicker to (right stick) input than before (which would be the so called 'lag' people where complaining about). It's hard to tell, really.

Edit: yeah, what Res said.

I didn't notice the changes at all in single player, it was only when I loaded up skirmish the controls felt any different. I don't see why they would make single player different to online though, so I am probably wrong.

Bit less of a deadzone after some MP but nothing major.

Yeah it does seem a bit easier. Not like I've got much point of reference though, I've generally abstained from console fps with the thinking that no console shooter will ever be as good as cs:s. I thought I would give kz a shot at changing my mind. It didn't.

No it's noticeable in SP too, unless GG pulled a Placebo on us and sent us a 16MB padding file ;-).

Incidentally I was just playing the Vasari Square level and the controls do feel a bit more 'agile' now (and I have the x and y acceleration on quite low).

Just had a good hour or 2 on it. The right analogue has been tweaked. I can aim alot faster and have alot more confidence in what i am doing. Feels alot more natural now. I wasnt sure at first but the initial almost minimal movement when the stick was tilted has gone and been replaced with...heres the kicker...ACTUAL movement!!!!!

More than playable now, so says my 36 kills and 6 deaths followed by my 39 kills and 13 deaths and so on and so forth.

Feel free to kiss my ring.

And Guerrilla can insist as much as they want that the controls are intentionally set to create a slower, weightier pace, but that's absolute bullshit. Weight has nothing to do with it. The fact is that the huge dead zone and zero acceleration on the right stick made it almost unplayable for me.

So you're saying all PS3 shooters play exactly the same way?

No, not at all. I'm saying that the experience would have been greatly improved with better right stick control.

Guys, i think some 3rd party needs to make a PS3 pad that is the same as the 360 pads, they are so much more comfortable for this type of game, i remember even on the playstation 1 they were not ergonomically right and never will be, they know it too......................i do have a PS3 but because of the shite Analogue i won't play shooters on my ps3....it is a shame because more people would play games like this on their PS3

Make sure you don't look at your right hand next time you are holding the Xbox 360 controller while playing a FPS then.

bobmar360, it's a bit silly if you boycott a whole genre of games just because of your opinion of the controller. I really like the DualShock design (as well as the 360 pad) and have played plenty of PS shooters without any problem. Rent some out, see what you think.

Don't let preconceived ideas hold you back from something you might, you know, actually enjoy.

Christ, just checked the honour rank bits. Well done you lot who have got them already, I reckon as time goes on that will become progressively more nails to get. You'd have to be a career player.

Widge, anything noteworthy in this PDF besides the construction plan to build your own paper dropship (or something along those lines)?

The only good stuff is the papercraft stuff. Unless you want a calendar.
