Hello! Searched for this but apparently one doesn't already exist so here you go.

The Hives. Bristol Carling Academy. 10 out of frippin 10.

Probably the best live band I have ever scene, blew everyone away. So i thought that merited a thread.

It was ages ago but, surprise surprise given my username, it was the Sex Pistols. 10/10, brilliant.

I'd write more but, as I say, it was a while ago so it'd be hard to capture my excitement again.

I'm not off to a proper gig (that isn't just local stuff) for ages! Boo! Would have loved to have seen The Hives. Great band.

EDIT: Actually, I saw my friend's band Zombina & The Skeletones the other day. They played at a mates birthday party, in his basement. That was brilliant as well.

Yup yup, they are indeed. All at festivals this year though. I was there, front row, at the Carling Academy in Brixton. Obviously it won't have been as good as in their prime but, considering I wasn't even alive then I can't compare it. It was the best gig I've been to, ever, but then they're my favourite band.

The Hives have always seemed to be even more energetic live than on record. I have their live DVD and seeing them has always been something I've wanted to do.

Oh and go see Zombina & The Skeletones when they play! They're brilliant! They just lost their keyboard player though, so they might not tour for a bit. I think they're going to Germany for a while as well, so, ahh, might be difficult.

Haven't been to a gig since seeing Tom McRae do an acoustic set in Oxford, supported by Thea Gilmore and Jont - 2001 ffs! Top stuff though, a 9 - and it would likely have been pushing a ten if a friend had come to share the experience with me.

Portishead - Third Tour 10/10.

9 for 99% of it but the new re-rub of wandering star shunted it up to a ten.

The Young Knives - Astoria (RIP)

4.5/10 - A few quite catchy tunes mixed in with a hell of a lot noisy, tuneless guff. One of the support bands were quite good though which bumps the score up a point, but I'm buggered if I can remember what they were called.

+1

I also saw Buck65 a few weeks ago in a tiny club in Manchester. 9/10 for him.

Roger Sanchez's "Release the Pressure" closing party, Pacha, Ibiza 2006.

Yeah it's a club night, but the guy really puts on a show, and it was probably the best 8 hours I've spent in the last five years.

10/10 by the way. I was confused by the absolutely straightforward question.

Iron Maiden at Burswood Dome, Perth. 9/10.

They were a bit rusty, but they played The Rime of the Ancient Mariner so I'd have forgiven them anything.

Went to see the Blood Red Shoes yesterday, although i had never actualy heard of them before. First two songs were good but then about 8 songs later it was starting to get annoying. They just all felt the bloody same. Supprt was good though. Ehh 6/10.

Ooooh. Morrissey at Camden Roundhouse a few months back. Just a 7 for this one. I'm a huge lifelong Moz fan but he was a bit off colour that night I thought. Plus I went on my own so it wasn't much fun of a night (though i guess if your gonna go and see anyone on your own it should me Morrissey).

Down at Manc Academy, I like pantera and listened to their back catalogue for a month beforehand, very good live band, sounds just like they do on record, which is always a major plus point for me. 8/10, would of been more if i'd of known more of their songs and official t-shirts weren't 20 bills a piece.

Future Of The Left at Manc Roadhouse.

Love this band, I know the lead singer a bit, and they don't disappoint. They are the group that formed out of the ashes of mclusky. 8/10 again, as they had to be out of the place by 9.30pm cos of some wanky dance night that was on afterwards, and the wanker bouncers that were throwing people out as soon as the band had finished.

I got some pics of FOTL as well here > http://www.flickr.com/photos/motti82/sets/721576045752431...

Saw 65daysofstatic in leeds last week.... was a pretty good gig.

Two brilliant supports Errors and Gay for johnny depp, i'd always avoided listening to the latter because of the lame name but it was such a great gig.... The singer spent almost all the preformance in the crowd and antics heading towards Mike Patton territory.

Errors are a must listen for fans of Mogwai... really amazing EP, will deffinatly be buying their new album.

9/10..... (but only because i'd seen Bjork!!! the previous night and that was completely overwelming!!!!!!)

Beastie Boys in a little venue opposite Camden tube station about 6 months ago.

9/10 and I am not a big Beastie's fan to be honest. Their live acts are generally brilliant though. (Except at festivals).
